Yes, I have only played this game for two days and yes, it's still in its beta phase but does anyone else find this game rather odd?? Meaning that everything needs to be micromanaged in this game. If I'm going to use one of the skills I have while in combat, I really don't need to focus on where it's going to go and where and when it's going to be fired. In Div. One you would deploy your skill and it did what it's supposed to do so that you can focus on the enemy and stay alive. Also searching for every little scrap so that you can build up your main base or an FOB that you just took over. I just think the big red thumb (Green if you wish) in this game is not based on adapt and overcome to progress the story but that there is no story. There's no urgency in this game, nor do you care about the individual charters in the game that keep on screaming at you to buy this or "Over here agent" and when you go to them, they have nothing to say. Silly game.
This is a huge gripe for me as well. I really hate having to micromanage the skills now. I liked it so much better in the first Division where the skills thought for themselves and just went after whatever enemy it came across. When I'm in the middle of heavy combat, I really can't afford to take the extra time to specifically point out which particular enemy I want the now brain-dead "Seeker" Mine to go after. And the Drone is even worse. Except for it's armor regen ability that is. At least the armor regen is useful.
I appreciate the feedback! I'll be sure to make a note of some of your thoughts and observations you've shared here.
Personally, I quite like the variety of skills for a variety of approaches. I enjoy the tactician/support archetype that it helps foster.
But regardless, I hope you enjoy the remainder of the beta!
Maybe cause I'm not used to it. But I kept dying then realizing my seekers were sitting next to me. The game looks good. And maybe there's a learning curve. But just doesn't feel good to me. They want cover based but in cover and shooting the rushers pop you up and then you get swarmed. Trying to repair armor and they don't really push back much at all. Thay sledge hammer rushing boss just sucks. Not a fan.
I agree the skills in Div 1 were more user friendly and could be used instantly, here its a little busy work.Originally Posted by Yankee_LT Go to original post
you gotta use you skills thinking ahead in advance. the reason why it seems harder is because you are used to easy mode and letting the skill do the work instead of you using them. seekers still seek the target as long as you mark them. you may say dumb but that allows for a more tactical plan. now i see more teamwork in missions as people cant rush enemies as they used to. ive seen myself use my drone to heal my teammates and pop chem foam on heavies or rushers to finish them off. there is a skill for everything, you just have to open your mind and start from scratch instead of goin in as a pro. this applies to pvp where people were just running around and popping skills right away taking the whole cover shooter out of the equation in div1. try playing conflict and you will understand as people take more cover and try to flank and be more careful. otherwise youd have the same **** as div1 where people would use heal run around use medpak in a second rinse and repeat. it only prolongs the fights and its super boring. now you have to think. there is def a learning curve as to how the game works now and people just dont wanna adapt. the only gripe i have is the chem gun and thats because of the way it shoot right away without a notice. its not like the sticky bomb where it would pull the gun out and wait for you to fire. pulse will be back but will have other uses such as being an emp pulse to destroy turrets drones and the like. skills will probably cancel other skills in order to balance the game. the traits is where it will define whether you are a tactician, dps, or tank replacing firearms, stamina and skillpower. also you are playing with low level skill. meaning once you start working on your build, skills will feel more powerful and useful. try playing div1 at level8 with skills and you will see how much it sucks.
Wait, let me get this correct. You need to "Think Ahead" to use your "Skills"?? That doesn't make much sense at all, to be honest. I prep my skills while I'm moving into position to take an outpost? First, the "Skills" don't have that range. You need to get up within 50 feet to use your skills and it's still a ***** to guess where the enemy will be and then screw around with the mechanics of the skill to get it to work properly and by that time you have been over run and dead. I don't use the skills at all. It's a waste of time and effort. I just go in using the Firearms that I'm carrying.
So, what you are saying is that everyone else's opinion is wrong, skills are fine, oh, except for this one that YOU think needs work. LOLOriginally Posted by axel2moody Go to original post
