In addition to the redone weapon sounds complete with realistic environment affected echoing and new recoil patterns that feel authentic and deliberate, there is a more subtle detail that I really appreciate.
Weapons in The Division 2 account for the round in the chamber if you reload prior to emptying the magazine, giving the weapon the magazine capacity +1. This is a detail that great shooters repeatedly overlook and it just shows the level of detail and attention that the development team put into the greatly improved gunplay.
I was further impressed that belt fed LMGs DO NOT give an extra round upon reloading, just as one (with a rather extensive knowledge of weapons) would expect as LMGs fire from an open bolt position and don’t chamber a round until they fire it.
Bravo, Massive. Your attention to detail was not lost on me.
