After taking part in, and reading a lot of feedback on the ridiculous xp grind that blocks progression, it’s clear that a huge portion of the playerbase dislikes it. It feels very much like this game had some monetisation in the works, (Maybe xp boosters) and then they realised the backlash would of been very strong if they sold them.
My suggestion would be a classic mode. Group the tracks into difficulty and allow us to quickly scroll through them (with times and leaderboards visible to help choose which track needed some attention) and allow us to just race our friends and our own ghosts and
give us a separate trials only leaderboard too. I have zero interest in skill games and stadium tracks, and because of this I have no interest in the overall leaderboard as i just do the bare minimum on these tracks to get by, so my scores are so low on these they drag my overall position down considerably so the overall leaderboard holds no fun for me.
I’m not asking to remove anything from the game as I can see that a few people enjoy the grind, but just don’t force the rest of us to deal with the horrible convoluted map and boring xp grind.
Yeah I already unlocked everything. A lot of my friends haven’t though and quite a few have already got bored. That would bring them back. Plus now I have unlocked everything, using the world map to search for tracks is so awful. A set of lists grouped into difficulty now would be amazing.Originally Posted by Tigerriot Go to original post
TL;DR I go way off topic here, sorry.
I quite dislike this new xp system. I'd much rather have the old progression system of getting at least gold in all medium tracks to unlock hard and so on. It still makes you learn the skills needed as if you just need one more medal you'll be replying that track until you nail it.
I have to say though that I've only been playing Frontier for the last year and half, ish so the world map to me isn't as bad, although it works much better with touch controls. I also kinda miss the bikes not having stats and not being able to upgrade them. I can see that being a bad idea though and I bet many would have a big problem if the bikes had to be upgraded to hit peak performance. I also kinda miss the selection of bikes from frontier. The the 3 different bikes from each tier and then the bonus funny bikes.
Speaking of, I loved the Donkey in Frontier, it was so snappy. Incredible rotation speed and grip to rival the Helium. But this one feels meh, as did the Donkey in Fusion but I think I hold an unpopular opinion on that point.
I hear there will be more bikes added later on, I'd like to see some details on that. As well as some more customisation for the current bikes. Only having one style of body for the Squid makes me sad. Even though no one rides it after they get the Mantis.
