My biggest complaint about Guerrilla Mode... prep time!

I tried Guerrilla Mode today for the first time as I’ve been travelling and I was expecting a horrific experience based on other feedback I’ve read. And I have to say I think the Mode is OK, although it’s not really my first choice for play style, it’s a nice break from the regular game.

I played solo with my AI team at Arcade difficulty.

I didn’t mind starting with a pistol as I could easily update to something better for round 2.

I didn’t mind the nagging old hag, as I could mostly tune her out amidst all the gun fire and she provides important verbal cues.

I didn’t mind the challenge of the various hoardes.

The problems for me are really learning to conserve ammo, which I can do as I get better, but I think the biggest problem is the very limited time between rounds.

In one case, I was atop the tower by the heli pad when the round ended and the next round was at the docks. All three of my team mates were down. I’m out of ammo, and in desperate need of a better weapon or a skill perk. But imagine... I have to hit an ammo crate, res a team member (which is painfully slow), run to visit the old hag, browse the selection, buy something, maybe visit the locker, then sprint for the docks. Well guess what? No way can you do all that in a minute. I ended up dying in round 7 with the weapon I bought in round 2 and like 15,000 credits as I never had time to upgrade.

At the very least the timer should freeze while you’re in the old lady’s store as there’s a lot to digest and it seems to change all the time. For example, I saw “second chance” in the perks list the first time I visited her but didn’t have enough credits. Then subsequent visits, it wasn’t there... but it takes valuable seconds to parse through the selections, determine what you can afford, what attachments might work with your gun, etc.

Another frustration...I saw an extended mag for sale... is that for the gun I have equipped or some other gun?! It’s not at all clear.

I guess I’m just dumb and slow but it’s unfortunately going to be very frustrating to get through this with only 1 minute between rounds. That’s just not enough with everything you need to do and the size of that base.

Guerilla Mode has definitely helped me with trigger control, head shot acquisition, and recoil management.

I think the one minute is an intended stessor. You have to make a choice and you are punished for mistakes.
If I play with randoms, I usually call out "Last ones, head to the shop if you need to". (I've completed Guerilla Mode a handful of times)

You also get 2min after each 5 waves.
The start of Tier 4 you can buy all land mines and proximity mines, place them strategically with enough time to buy a full load again. Such a cheese strat.

I was the same way as well. I learned that if the item is an upgrade for you, you will see the stat adjustments to the right. Even if it's extended ammo, it would affect the handling stat. If nothing is displayed, it means the item is not for your current equipped weapon.

You said it was your first time, there is a learning curve, like with all things. What was frustrating won't be after you learn the timing and patterns. The only thing frustrating is this mode really exposes players' aim and tact. That is frustrating because that is out of your control.

If you'll continue playing this mode, I'm sertain, you'll see, that one minute between round in the set is enough. For few first runs it seemed to me it's not enough, but not now - I' already at that point at which in most cases I'm either waiting for all those minutes, or waiting half a minute, 'cause it's enough to make the "shopping" )
