TD2 is more Ghost Recon than Division

The UI - weapons, skills, etc. feels a lot more like Ghost Recon than The Division.

I recognize that it’s only beta, but I don’t expect the UI will change. I paid full retail price for Ghost Recon, and played it a handful of times before uninstalling it - because I hated the UI. The Division UI was so much better.

And so now... The Division 2 has become the new Ghost Recon.

    Bummer.

No it isn’t. they’re totally different games. Sure there are a “few” things that may resemble GR:W but it’s definitely not.

And I think that is why im not enjoying it as much.

This game almost feels like it wants to be something else. It has Division on the tin, it has Division enemy health, Division 3pv and cover system, but it has like ArmA or RB6 Siege type of gun handling. It has a more controlled and tactical type of requirement to use the guns, but you need to mag dump to kill enemies. Plus, this game has removed, as far as I can see, a large portion of the boxes and bags and different things we had in Div 1 to impair the enemies. Instead, this game seems to be just mag dump after mag dump after mag dump...done in short, derpy bursts of fire....meanwhile, the enemies are firing full auto back at us, hitting us like a laser beam.

Additionally, were now in a huge, much more expansive area with much longer fields of fire and weapons handle so much worse that they are more fitting of the short range streets of New York style from Div 1. Fighting to keep my M60 on target with that irritating side to side sway it has is just honestly infuriating and removes all the enjoyment out of using it(And No, the M60 isnt the only gun ive used, ive toyed with many of them, including rifles). The mods system adds to this, being I cant really use mods to improve the handling without murdering another vital stat....trade one decent stat to make your garbage stat better, then your just left with trash in both areas. Guns are just bland and boring.

Enemies like the Robo Dogs and Tanks. Its not like we can shoot the gun out and disable it, or shoot the legs out of the Robo Dog to disable it....its like Destiny 2, your only option is bullet sponge him down. This is especially true of the Heavies...just fire until he dies....feels very Destiny 2 and VERY boring....I simply do not find the gun play to be nearly as enjoyable as Div 1. It feels like it belongs in another game. We need Division weapon balancing and handling, not Rainbow Six Siege weapon balancing...and thats how it feels. Burst firing, high recoil....ugh.

As for the skills, I honestly hate the skill use system in this game. THAT feels just horridly clunky. I was using the Arty turret, yeah that thing is useless. Beyond the placement of it being derpy and slow. Then you gotta kinda aim that god awful weird little red circle at the enemy, while trying to shoot him, while they are running, and while the aim point and arc is changing based on the objects its going around and over. Alot of these abilities feel way to clunky to use. This is a good example of something that sounds good in a board meeting but really doesnt play out that well in practice. Then the cool down timers on abilities leaves me forgetting about them after the first time I use them. 3 minutes between uses? Really? Thats a cooldown to the point where even a 20% reduction doesnt matter....yes, I know about the hold to destroy which cuts the timer down a fair bit, but still....

the hell are you talking about? its a demo with a level restriction as well as most of the gear locked out. of course you arent gonna be able to spam abilities without focusing abuild around it. the end game mission proves that as i kept using my healing drone multiple times. the weapons are the best part of this game as they improved on pretty much everything. of course you arent gonna be able to proficiently use them when you are at a low level. again end game mission allows you to use a sniper without any recoil, did you check out the gear mods on all of em? they give you like weapon stability and crit chances like crazy. weapon mods are there to counter balance everything. you people are complaining about being a low level holy ****. i think you guys forgot what it was like to be a low level when the div 1 first came out. also the reason why the cool down is higher is so people dont spam skills unless their build is around it which means those builds will have their cons such as less firepower or armor. also you are complaining about enemies taking so many bullets on a rpg looter shooter lmao. unless you spec your damage to elites high enough you would be doing the same sh it on div 1. i havent had any issues with the game even on its gameplay. i just adapt real quick. i suggest you guys do the same or keep crying about it. works either way

If doesnt feel like the division at all, strange that they have made so many changes considering D1 is ubisofts best selling game ever.

The hell are you talking about? I said the UI feels more like Ghost Recon (Wildlands) than Division. Load both games and see which one this one “feels” more similar to. Or make remarks about something completely different; works either way.

Division 1 had, at most a 60 second cool down timer. Maybe the balls had 80s, but I never used them because of that. I do not forget what its like being low level in Division 1. It was rough, but not nearly as annoying as this game. In fact, within the last 2 months I deleted a character and reran the lvl 1-30 grind.

Bottom line is the game is not ready to go. It will be like Dev1, They will nerf every thing for a year or so and finally decide to let us have a couple decent weapons.
Then the game will be on. Big dif i see so far is the lz streets are full of enemys as the Div1 was not. So grinding to level up is a good bit harder. Also i don't need all the bright lights and glitter that goes with this one. Some of the Sun glares are ok but they've gone over board a bit imo.
When your indoors seems like every battle is a light show.
I'm not sure exactly what the prob is, but in Div 1 i couldn't put the game down. This one i have no problem stepping away from it. I'm sure i will buy it, but probably not right away. I think i'll wait for all the nerfing to be done first.
Also my game keeps telling me i have gear thats not up to date, when in fact all my gear is at my level. Apparently I've done some thing wrong. lol
Any way hoping it all gets ironed out. Because there is a lot i like here also.

I agree. Being a sequel, one would have expected that they would have left the mechanics, the interface, the controls, etc. alone and focused on adding quality content.

I suspect that they cannibalized and integrated code from other UBI products to get here, taking some code from TD1, and some from other games like Ghost Recon.

It doesn't make sense (to me, anyway) that they would change such basic things like control functions and menus from one game to the next - both from a user experience perspective and also from a reusable code base perspective.
