I have had issues with sound cutting out with my coop friends weapons at times but last night was the first time the gameplay sound cut out completely. However, when I went ot the menu, the sound returned. It was only while I was in the game that I couldn't hear anything.

Luckily we were on party chat so we could still communicate. I sure hope this gets ironed out before the release because this will be a game killer for me.

Had the same problem. at first I hadn't really thought about it I just figured it was me moving too far away from things but then when i would shoot the bullets started making random church bell sounding noises for everything it hit from there everything started to stop making any sound. it took about 15 minutes before there was no sound at all for me.

Just another agreement that the complete sound degradation problem was still occurring on PS4 until the Open Beta finished. It was happening anywhere from about every 30min but sometimes taking longer like 2 hours or so of play time. I was mostly running in the Dark Zone while in a group and in party chat. Party chat continued to work, but almost all game sound was gone - the only audible sound from the game was sometimes my player's footsteps and/or the occasional random sound such as an insect buzzing around a pile of trash or similar ambient noises. Hopefully this is fixed prior to launch as the only workaround we found was to restart the app which really ruins the experience.
