I played along side team mates and friends for around 12 hours or more yesterday and encountered many different bugs and glitches.
The main and most annoying problem is the loss of audio which I think most people would have experienced at some point. I lost audio for several hours even after closing down the game and Xbox and logging back in again, It returned later on only after switching off to make the dinner. It went again shortly after and kept going off and on for the rest of the day, sometimes only hearing one foot hit the ground while running.
Secondly and one which actually caused me to die several times was the random invisible barriers appearing all over the map and no where near the beta borders. Most famously the one in the Hotel mission but I was encountering them in all areas whether during combat or not. At times if I ran around the area and leaned against a wall or tree it would the open the area up for me.
Cosmetically and its something which has bugged me since TD1 but seems to have gotten worse in the beta, the characters features are in some cases are awful. I understand that they are soldiers and in their situations wouldn’t necessarily be in the salon, at all, but they are often looking like the inbred characters you find on RDR2 which was often comical but definitely not great at all. Please smooth them out a bit.
Invisible NPCs were a huge issue as was the friendly fire. Many times I was unable to see the enemy or hear them but my radar would light up and I’d be taking damage. My character also went invisible after being revived and it was as though I was counting as an NPC and began taking damage, I eventually died from a team mate blind firing towards the red area on their radar. Bizarre but funny.
Mid afternoon a part of the map in west Potomac Park seemed to be available as a mission had been selected. This mission was over the beta border yet it kept telling us to make our way there. After several failed attempts to find a way in we eventually gave up. Is this intentional?
All in all this open beta seems to be far worse than the closed beta which is very disappointing. However, I do still love the game and maintain that it has far more to offer so many of the other big games right now and remain positive for the experience at launch.
