At the core of it though... I'm sitll loving the gameplay, just a shame they've gone this route. Agree with a lot of the earlier posts about simplifying things. For me the two main things are (as said before)
If you gold everything you should unlock the new tracks (ideally without the stadium stuff)
It should default to having your friend's ghosts (like HD) rather than randoms
They feel like pretty minor things!
My last post on the forum because I finally got there.
15 gameplay hours to unlock the extremes.
I think it's actually a bit of a disgrace that no one official has waded in to this thread.
You've made challenges the only way to progress.
I found them easy but tedious beyond belief.
Others find them virtually impossible and tedious beyond belief.
I'll ask one last time - why did you set the stadium finals to these crazy XP levels?
Anyway I'm off to finally go through the tracks and play the game properly.
Peace.
Im on level 75 after 17 hours or so still haven't unlock extreme tracks and the few hard available are just dumb to play... is this going to be patched or do I have to keep completing this contracts? … I have gold on everything already... and the tracks on "track central" well there's not much yet... really doubt there's gonna be a lot of good content ever anyways...Originally Posted by ExpectRust Go to original post
My problem is that I have problems completing the stadiums as you have to be perfect for the most part. One fault and your out. I'll get them done but they take numerous tries and a huge waste of time for points. I like to grind when going for platinum and making my way up the leader board, I still haven't unlocked HARD and i've been playing my *** off! This sux! The tournaments...I mean the stadium races, used to be something on the side for fun, now they are required?
I can't wait to unlock Hard and Extreme!
I love that there are nearly twice as many tracks as Fusion had, and that the quality is consistently excellent. I've had them all unlocked for a while, and I stopped receiving level up loot boxes about 40 levels ago, so the common complaints about the game are for myself not as bad as others seem to be taking them.
The progression should have been tuned better. It's not obvious to everyone that they should acquire the Donkey and Helium, which unlock a lot more contracts, and the incremental rewards from getting higher medals are negligible compared to the effort it takes to go from a Gold to a Platinum, or from there to Diamond. If the devs had lowered the levels where tracks unlock by 10 or 20 levels, and tripled or quadrupled the rewards from higher medals, then the complaints would be gone.
The map is a mess, and while the filters are useful it only serves to remind what a mess it is to begin with.
Loot boxes, I know there are people who are dead against them no matter what. I don't care. It's just cosmetics, and you can't buy them. As I said, I stopped receiving them a while ago anyway.
The entire loot box and leveling thing seems pointless anyway and the game would have been at least as good without them. Your leaderboard position could be your "level". Contracts and tracks could reward gold bolts and blue acorns like they do now, and then all cosmetics could be bought direct from the Store with those currencies. The contracts would essentially become fully optional then, which is fine since there's a ton of content in the game anyway. Then the later tracks could be unlocked by medal count, like in earlier games. Everyone would have been happier, and it would have been easier to develop, and they wouldn't have received so much negative buzz from early user reviews that it shows as Mixed in Steam.
Ive had everything unlocked for a while now. What's frustrating now is navigating a map full of faces everywhere. Its total chaos. A filter to turn off contacts altogether would be nice, but a classic list of the tracks categorized by difficulty would be much better. Now that I've unlocked everything, I don't want to do anymore contacts, I just want to work on improving my times.
