3 days after buying this game, im still on easy/med tracks and I have yet to unlock the Mantis... and I consider myself a seasoned rider dating back to the HD days. I don't know what that tells you, but yeah. I play casually now cus im old AF but still, getting platinum on every track up to medium I should be able to unlock the game's best bike by now. Makes me hate Fusion even less now.

You can gain more XP from playing multiplayer as well.

The game is not a "grind fest" It's a game, welcome to the world of gaming...

I don't think you understand the argument. Content is locked behind long and tedious gameplay which is uninteresting when you do it for the 100th time. They could have easily separated unlocking tracks with the whole sponsorship thing and made unlocking skill based (like previous editions) and just give you cosmetics, or whatever, for doing the contracts.

In other words, there should have been looked for incentives for doing contracts (great cosmetics, leaderboards, etc). The incentive should have never been unlocking tracks. And if the issue was that they tought nobody is going to do contracts otherwise then it was a red flag for not implementing the system in the first place.

Gasp... maybe, just MAYBE we'd get some double or even triple XP days! That'd be the bee's knees.

I've just opened the hard tracks and I only downloaded the game last night, I haven't been grinding the contracts iv done a fare few for fun but iv been hitting the tracks and the stadium/stadium finals, as far as I can see every time I complete another stadium finals it opens up a new set of tracks, just finished the mediums in a couple of hours.

I've been holding off buying it due to the forum talk and reviews of constant grinding to unlock stuff, hopefully this will be addressed. Not willing to spend money on the game just yet. The stadium finals put me off when I was playing the open beta so if there's just more if it in the final game then I'll happily wait. I play games to have fun, not to feel like it's a chore.

I've bought every other Trials games pretty much as soon as they launched but not this one.

I keep telling myself that eventually I will be able to simply play all the tracks the way I want. Climbing the leaderboards and trying to get those crazy difficult diamonds (love how tough you made those redlynx!).

For now I am instead wasting hours and hours doing stupid flips and finishing tracks with slower bikes for experience points.
It's obvious redlynx put an insane amount of love and care into the track designs. They are all spectacles full of detail. It's a shame a huge number of new players will quit before they unlock all of them. Im one of the biggest trials fans out there and I feel beat down by the grind... I can only imagine how new players feel about it taking them much longer than me.

There is no reason I should be at a spot where I have dozens of platinum medals, a few diamonds, and zero gold or less, and still be hours away from opening the next set of tracks. Give those platinum and diamond metals some exp point weight redlynx!

3 Days? It took me 2 and a half hours on both PC and then Xbox to unlock the Mantis. I only got gold on most tracks and done a few contracts. If I remember right you were / are a much better rider than me. Maybe complete some contracts with the highest XP reward but only if you can do them quickly as not to waste time.

    Good luck dude.

Hey man, have you still not unlocked all the tracks? You've got some nice scores. I too grinded to unlock the extreme tracks and go back at my own pace. Eventually I had gold medals on all hard tracks and below but still no extremes. Then I realised I had missed a few Stadium Finals. Once I completed all the stadium finals and the Grand Finale thats when the rest of the tracks unlocked for me.

Hope that might help some people. I may go through it all again on PC and work out the quickest way to unlock everything but for now I don't have the patience.

The contracts are really stupid though. The only ones that are remotely fun are the "no lean" or "don't realese the gas". But even they get old fast.

I agree to an extent. I don’t mind so much playing through the contracts unless it’s a really dumb beat this player who has all the platinum medals already and leaves more casual players in the dust. But I really do agree with the thing about stadiums. Really don’t like them at all. I’d rather it was just beat all the tracks to unlock the next set, not okay some not at all fun stadium. And the stadium finals where you have to marathon all 3 are even worse

I have a handful of the hard tracks unlocked. Im at like level 75 and the next stadium unlocks at level 78 or so.

I hate to complain because the meat of the game is fantastic. The bike physics and the track designs are a step beyond, a lot of love and care was taken there.

Really, I'm just frustrated because I'm a business owner and a father of 4. I only get so much gaming time a day and don't want to spend it farting around doing flips with the squid.
