During the Private Beta, this was barely an issue, now that the Open Beta is out there have been sound issues in about 50% of gameplay.
This includes:
- Out of sync sound, firing a shot and hearing it a second later
- Guns going completely silent while firing, with only hit activating sound effects, music, and surrounding environment sound effects, being the only sounds heard.
- During some firefights, the sound of automatic fire will go on for hundreds of rounds while no in game battle or firing is occurring, or has finished. Running away from the area will work only occasionally, while other times the automatic fire follows you wherever you go until it decides to finish. It is hard to determine if this is delayed gunfire audio from the user, delayed npc gunfire audio, or a flat out bug from a turret or other source.
- The game at times will skip environment sounds, out of sync footsteps, etc. During this, the game becomes almost silent, with sounds skipping in and out.
This is particularly upsetting for us weapon enthusiasts who enjoy the sound of a gun cycling and firing.
This is not an issue outside of the Division 2 (Tested).
Attempted Fixes that do not fix bugs:
Switching weapons in menu
Switching weapons in game
Logging out
Fast Traveling
Temporary Fixes: Exiting out of game, logging back in, but eventually these bugs will kick back in each session
Hi ahm1212! Thank you for the detailed report on the audio issues. These are a known issue, but I still want to thank you for providing this information!
Sounds issues persist from the closed beta:
Weapons: Randomly stop sounding for both player and NPC's. Switching from primary to secondary, secondary has sound, but not primary. restarting game corrects issue.Environment: Friendly NPC's at random times cannot be heard. Random occurrences of hearing nothing but animals. Restarting game corrects issue.Gamewide: Sound stops altogether, and game must be restarted to restore.
One last thing. The flailing action when having to jump from a height that hurts the player is really annoying. Just like Ghost Recon Wildlands![]()
Bullets hitting armor equals ears bleeding.
Guns not making sounds.
Game tries to catch up to sounds and controller vibrates uncontrollably
Menu sounds stopped working
Gun sounds fire infinitly until you change guns and then the gun you switched to sounds like it fires forever even without you shooting
Just teamed up with a friend to play one mission. We could hear each other but nothing else. No bullet sounds, npcs or ambient noise for the whole mission. My audio was patchy but sort of worked before joining him.
Unplayable at the moment.
The audio problems seemed to start as soon as I got my second weapon and repeated if I changed weapons.
