Greetings,
I'm not sure if I missed something in the beta memos, but I really hope the Division 2 still has a consumables wheel like Division 1 had. I've noticed while playing I pick up electical rounds for my weapon from loot containers and they are instantly applied to my weapon, removing the ability to use them tactically. That takes a huge rpg mechanic out of the game. I thought I saw people using them traditionally in the closed beta. Please let me know if this is simply a bug or something, as this is game breakingfor me. Thanks.
Guns exchange - yes - I do it, but what if your second weapon is not suitable for other enemies?
In Div 1 it was easy. You will all kill and when Elite approaches, you will turn on special ammunition.
And now you have to look for a box of ammunition and use it immediately. What if I want to use her outside the mission? Will not I use the favorite gun with a special ammunition to keep a special ammo all the time? Strange.
Have to agree here. I am not a fan at all of special ammunition in D2, where you are stuck using it the moment you pick it up. It is far, far less effective than the way D1 did it, where you could choose to use your consumables at an appropriate time.
The specialized weapons generally have the same problem...they are skills you can only use when the game randomly decides you can. And, if the game decides not to give you ammo, then your specialized weapons sit useless and unused.
The whole concept needs to be revisited. I don't think that RNG should be involved in the actual gameplay of battles. RNG is fine for drops, ok. Not fine at all for firefights and key gameplay. I greatly miss the bullet types and buff consumables of D1.
I don't see any reason for them to be included as they were in Division 1. I never used any of them, consumables or special ammunition, except when needed to get some tedious commendation. But if they add the survival option of consumables I say go for it. Make agents get thirsty and hungry, require use of medication after having visited contaminated areas etc. Just don't give players fantasy powers after they consumed water, food, candy bars and the likes.
