So what you’re saying is that the overwhelming majority on these threads that hate the grind and don’t like they way they’ve locked us out of the tracks are wrong, and you’re right. Ok. dude.Originally Posted by LIONDEN1 Go to original post
Yes, he is right. Like i said earlier, i unlocked everything within a day. So people are either encountering an unknown bug in the game or they are didnt finish every available track. The stadium finals are easy to miss. And do some contracts anyway. Some will give you up to 8000 experience points. Finishing an extreme track again gives you just 500.
I’m not going to lie, it is a bit of a slog grinding through the campaign. I found myself enjoying things a bit more once I unlocked the hard tracks and beyond. Alot of the easy/medium tracks I found a bit tedious. The grind could be toned down quite a bit and this campaign would still be lengthy with 117 odd tracks in the base game. Speed runners are going to have their work cut out with this game.
Negatives aside Redlynx outdid themselves with this game. The amount of content and the overall quality of it all is monumental. Fusion killed my desire to play Trials and Rising has brought it back so RL have done something right IMHO.
I agree D2... there is alot of game here .... Alot !
Love most of the game but the track menu layout with all of those tracks is a mess and ninja tracks on base game ? Plus I really miss the TEAMS and the quick look at friends times after each run.You need to hunt them down now and the game has a new feel then the other Trials games... but that could be a good thing,I guess only time will tell.
.....and as far as grinding I always thought that was another name for Trials 😉
Belive me...I know...because we (The OTHG) have some of the best "grinders"
in the business 😆 Grind on team grind on !
There are a few not so good things, like the total number of contracts, the stadium tracks and there layout and rules ! ...and like I said the ninja tracks in
the base game...and by far the biggest mistake..REMOVING THE TEAMS !
.....and maybe 5 years was a bit long between games ? Alot of players may have just moved on ? Or they are waiting .......
Maybe it will just take some time and a few updates to smooth things out and I will be glad to invest the time like always.....thank you for a solid game Ubisoft/Redlynx 😆
The bike / gear editor is a nice addition but very basic ( needs some tweaking )
There should be a free share with friends but again...TEAMS would solve that !
The size is a great and the Squirrel hunting is on another level... well done !
Also some of the hidden eggs and achievements... many hours of hunting fun.
Thanks again for an awesome game that will keep us (The OTHG) busy for years...and once track central gets going that will add more gameplay to this
already huge game.....but like any new game it needs some work. Please hear
our ( the community ) feedback and ideas and if we work together.... we will have one hell of a game here. [ OTHG - TRIALING SINCE 2012 ]
I've played since Evolution and actually think the driving lines are much harder this time around, not so much the obstacles tho.
The grinding does really suck and should be optional for people who wanna earn currency and certain items.
Plus the world map sucks.
I miss a neat list with all tracks for a certain difficulty and immediately seeing the leaderboard instead of that extra button press.
As I'm not a very good Trials player I applaud the more friendly learning curve. I like that there are more Easy and Medium tracks this time around, making it easier to enjoy the game. I personally think the Easy tracks have the best flow in Trials games. Not because they are easy but they are the easiest to enjoy, make big jumps, lots of flips, great pacing etc. I really like that the campaign doesn't rush to introduce Hard and Extreme tracks. There are many of that kind, too, only later. I can achieve a gold medal on all Hard tracks with relative ease, so it's not just about challenge. It's about the game letting people enjoy the action and not forcing them into hard challenges right away. I like it much more than previous campaigns.
That said, the progression system is deeply flawed. Later championships are walled behind so high level requirements that you are forced to grind the stupid "contracts" over and over again. It's boring and frustrating at the same time. I wish the campaign progression was much more natural. It's quite disappointing that completing all tracks to gold doesn't even get you close to progressing. In the past several hours I had to grind these uninteresting contracts to get enough fame to progress. Then I was blocked again by an even higher level requirement. The loot box system is the worst I've ever seen, too, but at least it can be completely ignored.
I will say the grind felt a little bit less annoying when I unlocked the Helium and Donkey bikes as throwing all of their specific contracts into the mix added some diversity to the events.
My list of most wanted fixes goes like this.
1) Make the game run smoother. Too many stutters and pauses on my PS4 Pro.
2) Make friend leaderboards much more visible again like they were in previous games. This is essential to the Trials experience in my opinion.
3) The avatar post race screen seems appropriate in multiplayer. Not so much in single player. This is where those friend leaderboards are desperately needed.
4) I like the soundtrack a lot but it feels too small. Adding additional tracks would be great.
