I put these in another post but wanted to make another because I think it is important for the community and the Devs to know what is preventing us from spending more time in the game.
- The loot system takes too long to get what I want, so I don't play for new gear. Loot boxes. Enough said. Sometimes I get it real quick, sometimes not at all.
- I have been playing this game for going on 3 years, I am bored with playing the same modes over and over again. Breach is awesome and a great addition. Bring the Cradle of death back!!
- I don't like how the bot system ranking is setup. I had just played PvP enough to get lvl 2 bots to spawn in my PvAi modes and then Vortiger dropped and they wiped my progress. So I don't play because PvAi bots are never the lvl I want to play with.
This is all I could recognize at the moment. but if I notice anything else that is driving me away, I will add it to this thread.
Realism is really a thing that goes lost lore and more.Originally Posted by RenegadeRasta Go to original post
For me it's the lack in Breach maps and maybe new tools in Breach.
Course, I realize that realism should be the last thing to complain about but... seeing Vortiger pancake-flip 2 Shugokis at once...Originally Posted by Illyrian_King Go to original post
The reason why I left FH 1 year ago (thats after playing from March 2017 - March 2018):
There were 2 modes that I cant play last year. Its Tribute and Brawl if Im not mistaken plus other modes matchmaking were taking forever. I already escalate the problem to Ubi Support, we try to fix it for about a month but they cant and finally they gave up. I already used DMZ, but it has no effect. Its actually fixed around season of Marching Fire, but Im so hooked up with Destiny 2, so I didnt bother coming back. So much content in D2 that I didnt have time to play other games. Even now Im back to FH because D2 content this season already dried up, I wll definitely will be back in new season (on 5th March)
Why I didnt bother coming back:
After I left FH, I moved to Monster Hunter World. I played it for 6 months and then moved to Destiny 2. I left MHW completely now, because even though its a great looter game its only PvE and I got bored with fighting same AI monsters again and again. They are missing PvP content and I love PvP. The dynamic and unpredictibility of PvP is what Im looking for besides good looter PvE. After that I found Destiny 2. They can provide what Im looking for: PvE with great story, loot, RPG elements, customization, etc and they include PvP in one game. Its a complete package of gaming experiences. The loot and rewards just get me hooked up. Different guns with different perks and function almost every week. Its like we got new toys to play again and again.
Back to FH. There are no worthy rewards in FH imo. I know the core of this game is Fighting (PvP) and most of fighting game in the market has no rewarding content besides new char/heroes, the rest is just cosmetics, but I think FH has potential of becoming not just a Fighting (PvP) games but also can be a looter Hack and Slash. Imagine a Bloodborne/Souls game that implement FH fighting mechanic and deploy 50-50 content of PvP and PvE. That is the future of FH that I could think of. I think if Ubi wants this game to be bigger they have to try shift the focus of this game.
The fact that progress is pointless, getting good with any given character is pointless as they will be reworked into something different -
*Spent 17 reps getting conq to work, reworked into a light spam and something I didnt want to play
*Spent 24 reps getting orochi to be the counter striker that they stated he was, then hes reworked into a spam machine I dont want to play.
*Spent 28 reps getting shugoki to work up to succesful 1 v 4 levels then have him utterly changed, losing his unique hyper armour and turning him into a spam machine
*Spent 100's hours getting my warden to max rep to watch him dumbed down to a binary 'hope this bash works' moronic character I only kept playing because I'd already invested so heavily
*And they took all my gear that i'd spent real $$$ getting to look how I wanted and max out in ways I wanted and replaced it with a 1,000 points in a single perk I didn't want, honestly felt like they just patched out skins I'd bought (not to mention that the 60 item slot cap i'd deleted all items i'd now want from my higher reps...)
IN SUMMARY - Ubi does nothing for far to long with things that need small tweaks, then hits them with a sledgehammer and leaves them again for far to long (either further broken or OP as all heck). Never any minor adjustments, only total overhauls (usually released in groups of 4 because what better way to work through a character then change everything around them)
For Honor is just not fun to me anymore.
* It currently relies far too heavily on its Fighting Game elements; there are far too few Action genre elements to keep me interested. I dislike Fighting Games and for a time, For Honor was different. Right now though, it's not. Bringing back the Minion-killing animations or doing with the minions what game franchises like Batman: Arkham (preferrably Arkham Knight), Shadow of Mordor/War, or the Assassin's Creed games I - IV did with their AI enemies (giving the players the ability to use both counter attacks and special finishers against smaller enemies) would be a very big step in the right direction in bringing back up the fun factor.
* The game has too few PvE modes for Single Player & Co-op. Arcade Mode is just plain uninteresting. Its "quests" do not feel quest-like at all. They feel more like blatant copies of Duel and Brawl mode with only a few very tiny details that differentiate the two. Story Mode can be fun occasionally, but it's very shallow and can get uninteresting after several playthroughs since you can only play as a few of the heroes. The scripted events can also lose their "flavor" so-to-speak after playing through it several times.
* Not enough game modes with an emphasis on "war." Duel, Brawl, and Tribute have next to nothing to do with this theme and I only used the first two for Orders and also for practicing with different heroes. Breach is a step in the right direction, but I HATE what the devs did to the Minions. They're far too strong, easily capable of taking down players when they're too busy fighting off enemy heroes. Using multiple hits on them is not fun at all either, especially with the very small attack combos provided to each hero that does not have infinite chains, which leads to my next point.
* Out-of-lock chains are too short. Only being able to do 2-3 hits per hero out-of-lock is not fun, primarily against minions. In-lock against enemy heroes makes sense, but out-of-lock is frustrating and not satisfying against minions. This goes especially for the Heavy-class heroes, who only have 2 hits per combo chain. Vanguards don't even feel like vanguards due to only having 3 attacks out-of-lock.
* Reiteration: minions are not fun to fight against anymore. The Minion-killing animations made them fun. Getting rid of them because a bunch of other people used in-lock chains just to speed up the clearing process for them is not a good excuse for getting rid of them. Neither is "uniformity," along with the "minions" (more like "MANions") in "Breach" mode. Just plain smacking them around like in an older gen. game is just far too boring! If we can't have the minion-killing animations back, then combat against the minions needs to change. The counters & finishers, along with longer out-of-lock chains that I've already mentioned, is a very good way to fix this.
Despite all of these points I have against For Honor, I really want to come back. It has a lot of potential and can be one of the greatest games on current gen. consoles. However, it's just not fun to me anymore and I refuse to play video games that I don't find fun.
