I'm just gonna throw my comment from xLetalis' video in here..:
I just completed the updated Episode 2 not 10 minutes ago and I'm still not satisfied with how they handled that whole cluster**** of an ending. Take something like the Dark Ritual: Yes, your Warden can be gay but at least Bioware gave you the option of convincing Alistair/Loghain to perform the ritual with Morrigan instead so that you yourself didn't have to meet your inevitable doom at the hands of the Archdemon's demise if you so chose. Now I understand that the protagonist in Odyssey has Isu blood and needs to continue the bloodline and all that, but then Ubisoft had better give me a damn good and respectful reason for doing so when they give me the option of playing MY canon Kassandra as a lesbian (or a gay Alexios for that matter), and a forced romance with a dull character of the opposite sex is absolutely not the way to do so! Oh, and not to mention that having a child at this point in the story is an especially horrible idea narratively speaking considering both the Cult of Kosmos and Order of the Ancients is still at large. Like leverage much? I dunno, I'm still very disappointed and can only hope that they'll expand further on this in the final episode.
I have noticed that too. I created a thread a while ago that generated a lot or reactions but ubisoft never chimed in on that either.Originally Posted by Treshcore97 Go to original post
Honestly at this point its just better to move on to other games. The devs have already finished this game and they will just roll out whatever content is promised and call it a day. These game dont seem to get any support past the 1st year anyway...
trully dissapointing...I will just go back in pirating the games and not support another game if this is how they treat meOriginally Posted by Asgardian02 Go to original post
There are few reasons why we should not move to the other products:Originally Posted by Asgardian02 Go to original post
1) Assassin's Creed Odyssey is great. It has a great Greece map, great and big world - it is a big work and Ubisoft has to be respected for it.
2) Assassin's Creed Odyssey is still under supporting. And it is great too. Adding New Game +, many other good things in this game - it is the example of a good product post-release support.
3) The next Assassin's Creed will be released in 2020, so Odyssey still will be actual for more than a year for fans.
Assassin's Creed Odyssey is a great game and I'm in love with it. If I was indifferent to it, I've never been on this forum. However, as a customer and a fan of the series since the first game, I see my personal responsibility for this game's future. And this is why I'm so stubborn and hope you share my feeling about Odyssey.
Well, I simply hope it will be soon. I mean, the respond. The true patch should arrive after the release of the third episode, of course. I know that they may prepare another statement, choose the words carefully... but words are words - they really better do something with this ending.Originally Posted by Locopells Go to original post

It is of course very disappointing to see the AC Odyssey devs drop the ball on this first DLC - it's a bad story, but worse it's an unnecessary story.
Everything told in it could have happened "off-screen", it's basically "Plot Contrivance the DLC" - except it's not even a proper plot contrivance, because it doesn't lead anywhere.
The child of Kassandra will never be an important character in this game or any other. That Kassandra had a child in her 2500 years of existence is hardly a big deal. One would expect her to have had many, during her incredibly long life. It's not a story which needs to be told, quite frankly.
In fact the devs acknowledge that by having it a DLC in the first place, instead of being an integral part of the main game. It's a filler, which one can only charitably crowbar in as part of the "canon", because it has been pointed out ad nauseum that multiple characters could well have had the same child, with the same genetic effects and heritage. As awesome as Kassandra is, she's not unique in that regard.
Worst of all, the devs of the DLC simply didn't have the wherewithal or skill to write for an RPG. Instead they wrote their own little fanfiction, and invited the players to spectate - players who until that point had been playing an RPG. Not a hugely deep or complicated RPG, but one which knew how to execute the basic tenants of the genre.
So it seems to be set in stone, this first DLC of AC:Odyssey is best ignored and cast aside. It adds nothing, not to the main game, the lore, the character and certainly no RPG elements. Why it exists in the first place, is a mystery - perhaps as filler - but even as filler, it fails to deliver more of the same (which a filler should do).
As such, the only legacy this DLC offers is one of failure and disappointment and ultimately will be forgotten, ignored or at best derided - and sadly there's another chapter of it to be released, but the amount of people who care much about it, how it ends, what the fanfiction tries to espouse, are few and far between.
Most will simply enjoy the main game and hope that the next DLC will be worth their time, and this one quickly forgotten.
I’ve been following this issue for a while and haven’t really posted anything about it since most people was already saying what I’ve been thinking. I am dissapointed as well with Ubisoft and still can’t understand how they missed that. A lot of people who come to this forum and say that they see nothing wrong with the episode’s ending don’t understand something. A lot of us were excited to play this game (or even decided on the sole reason) because of this quote made by Ubisoft creative director Jonathan Dumont during an interview that happened before the game was launched:
“Since the story is choice-driven, we never force players in romantic situations they might not be comfortable with. Players decide if they want to engage with characters romantically. I think this allows everybody to build the relationships they want, which I feel respects everybody’s roleplay style and desires.”
This DLC’s ending is totally in contradiction with what he promised that the game will be delivering to its players: choices (especially in this case ,choices about our sexuality and romantic life). When we don’t play this game, choices are one of the biggest part of our life: it makes us feel free, confident and in power of ourselves, something that most of us in our lifes can not feel on a daily basis. Whatever your sexual orientation is, we are all suffering in our lifes when we are forced to do stuff we are don’t want to (ex: act heterosexual while you’re homosexual because of your environment, marry somebody that your family forces you to, do nothing about your boss sexually harassing you because of fear of losing your job, etc...). And when life fails you because of instances like those, most of us turn to something that is in our control, and in this case, this game, because of what it promised. Based on that promise, we all embraced the character and started feeling happy again during the main game where we could make our own choices, especially on romance and sexuality; this was a way to feel free and in control and Ubisoft delivered that in the main game. And this is why most of us are disappointed and angry about the DLC’s ending, it failed us like life is failing us on many occasions by forcing us down a path and not leaving us a choice. I hope that people who don’t see what is wrong with the DLC’s ending read this and shows some empathy if you don’t have these problems in your life; most of us holded on to this game and the DLC’s ending just crushed us like similar stuff would do in real life.
Anyway, I am glad to see that a lot of people pour their feelings and anger, but obviously this was not enough to get the fix to the DLC’s end the way we wanted to (Ubisoft’s so-called fix was lazy and missed the mark again). Ubisoft obvious doesn’t seem to know what to do because they are probably stuck between their promise that they’ll give romantic choices to its players and this narrative for the DLC where a baby needs to be born and the assassin lineage needs to be passed one way or another (which is still confusing since Kassandra/Alexios lives for like 2500 years until she/he passes on the staff). Maybe we should start focusing this thread on detailed suggestions of scenarios that could work out for them and for us. I know that this is supposed to be their job and not ours, but it is evident from the fix that they did that they have no clue how to solve this, so the job is on us the players. Let’s start making possible scenarios changes that could fix the issue and hopefully they’ll implement it. Keep in mind that they’ll probably need to redo some scenes and create new dialogues with their voices actors so hopefully we’ll have good suggestions that’ll be the minimum extra work and cost possible but give the maximum outcome for the players.
This is why I had the idea to keep the Tempest alive (and change the Tempest to the sex of the player character), they could carry on the lineage.Originally Posted by realSokrates Go to original post
