[Spoiler] Fixing the DLC's ending - mission NOT accomplished

Hello there. So, I'm glad to see the Episode 3 of The Legacy of The First Blade is out and it is the opening of the new wave of discussions and protests against the forced romance and having a baby. At first, check out the original post hidden under the spoiler tag down below to understand the problem and see what should Ubisoft do with is. With the full picture of this DLC it is now easier to make any of the thoughts.

At the beginning, let's see what the third part is all about. In it's ending it reveals us the truth about Origins' Aya - she is the descendant of Kassandra or Alexios. This is a nice lore fact, but I believe that it shouldn't be achieved with violating the promise made by Ubisoft during the promotional campaign - the freedom to have a romance only with those characters we want to have romance with. Also, there is an another big event during this DLC: Natakas or Neema dies making Kassandra or Alexios cry which shows you that your protagonist have a very big feelings to this character - it is also not very good.

So, let's go to the solving of this problem. Let's be honest: the ending which reveals Aya to be the descendant of our protagonist is epic and it would be nice to save it. However, how can we do it without violating advertising campaign and offending people? I see two ways.
The first way. During the whole DLC, Natakas or Neema goes... to the friendzone. At least, the relationships doesn't go any further than friendship. Your protagonist successfully saves Darius' son or daughter and they're all alive by the end of the DLC. In the end, there is a discussion of the importance of the bloodline. It ends up with Kassandra or Alexios and Natakas or Neema come to the agreement to have a child somewhere in the future, when they get older and be ready to do it. Because it is an "utilitarian sex", the sexual orientations and ideology of the characters will be ignored, but it will not offend the player because the player won't see his character to have this sex as well as most of their protagonist's 2500 years of life. After a long time, Aya somehow becomes the resident of Egypt, but no one knows how.
The second way. Kassandra and Alexios disagree to have a romantic relationships with Natakas or Neema like in the first variant. However, Natakas or Neema die as it was in the original DLC. Darius fight alongside with the protagonist and, in the end, they have a conversation with the same result: "utilitarian sex" for continuing the bloodline somewhere in the future. Darius live long enough to become the father of Elpidios. Aya appears to be the resident of Egypt, but no one knows how.

The ending of the whole DLC is interesting, but is should not violate the advertising campaign and player's choices. If there are some big events happening to our character player would not like due to ideology, these events should happen after the chronological borders of Odyssey and it's DLC because after these borders Alexios or Kassandra is not our character any more.
So, please, share your ideas how can this DLC be fixed. Thank you all!

    Spoiler:  Show
Hello there and the first thing I want to say is that... I am kinda full of emotions, but I will try to behave myself modestly, respectful, polite and 'not like before' at all. However, this patch was what I was waiting for just because I hoped it will fix the controversial DLC ending and... it didn't. So, I've picked up this video on YouTube, really wanted to see it and see how this fix will work... So, let's look on it.

To be more structured, I want to put on here some kind of structure of what was not good in the fix. Let me start from the obvious things and then go on to some smaller details.

    1) Having a child. I know it was obvious that Ubisoft is going to make a pretty big emphasis on this child in the next DLC chapter, but it is still not very good.
There were many different things in Kassandra's body, but most of them was... well, sharp. Blades, spears, arrows, well, mercenary's life - nobody asks her if she want to be hurt or not. But she have never gave anyone to put 'something more interesting' inside her without her permission. At least, it happens during the game: you can still reject Alkibiades if you want to. It happens because during the historical section of the game Kassandra is our character at the most of time. And making some choices via that character kinda makes her... our avatar - the reflection of our "inner world" in the game. You may call it "synchronization" - the word so beloved by Assassin's Creed series (and me).
When it comes to this DLC, this feeling of avatar kinda crushes. Your character has sex with Natakas and has a child with him. I understand LGBT people on this case because I am childfree myself - another kind of minority. This social group is much smaller and they don't put too much emphasis and attention to themselves, but they may not just don't want children - they may dislike them, feel some disgust to them and even their parents - but it all happens without violating their rights, without discrimination. Disliking is not equal to disrespecting. Notice that and let there be peace.
However, in Assassin's Creed Odyssey - the game with a big variety of choice, it would be great to play as a character you can associate yourself with even in DLC. Of course, you can't make the game good for all the people, but I think that the decision to have a child still has to be up to the player in the game which already sets up the fact that we are free to have relationships with every gender or with no one at all. And even continuing the bloodline can't be the reason.
Also, it breaks the timeline. Maybe, you have a side quest to kill someone or to bring some thing to the other character. These 24 hour quests, you know... So, you take this quest, go through this DLC ending and then come back like nothing happened. Funny.

    2) The romance is still can be felt and the happines around the child still exists.
If you think that the first point felt like a small populism, you're right: Ubisoft deserve some understanding upon this DLC, and if they want to put a child in this game so much - let it be. However, the way this child is presented is bad at all even after the update, just as the rest of communication with Natakas. Let's see here...
So, the controversial part of the plots starts when Natakas and Darius go to the ship. After the "Farewell" choice, Natakas says about some letter in the house. We go there and here it goes again.
Kassandra cries, then sees Natakas and rushes to him, holding him like he is the main person in her entire life. At this moment nothing seems to be patched: Kassandra is still in love with the character the player don't feel to be loving.
More after. Let's imagine like Kassandra decided to do a child only for utilitarian goals (or how do you call it). But still, I want to play a childfree character who dislikes children, for example. LGBT-people feel the same because they were forced to have a sex with the character of the opposite sex (sounds strange, but gender is an other thing nowdays, I suppose). However, Kassandra feels so happy about this child. She doesn't regret about anything. You can't even choose a dialogue line where Kass can express her disgust to the situation she got into. She feels a little... insane about her having a child. And you can't choose it.
Also, she calls the place she is with Natakas as home. And she's happy with it too and it doesn't matter if you want to call it like this or not. However, this is a much smaller problem.

The only thing I have noticed in the video is the addition of the heart symbols near some dialogues. Really.
I don't want to be disrespectful to anyone, but I want to ask for an explanation and maybe even further work on this problem after the release of the third episode. By now... I can't even say "Thanks for noticing this problem" anymore. It is noticed, but all the changes were too small to be thankful for. So, I hope this message will be seen and there will be some answer by any of Ubisoft representatives.

Aren't the DLC Episode 2 changes supposed to come at the same time as the Episode 3?

As far as I know, Ubisoft told us that these changes will come with the "next patch", but this "next patch" is the one we've got today. Maybe I have lost something in this world of information, but I've heard this. So, I have written this post basing on this information.

I have a feeling that whoever wrote this DLC got their depiction of women from one of those 1950s manuals on "How to please your husband."

It's really hard to talk about this without laughing not because I'm basking in others misfortune or anything but because any idiot could see from the moment the trophy was announced this was a bad idea and I still have no idea what the hell the devs were thinking. Epic fail.

As for the "fix" I really don't know what anyone was expecting. They have a roadmap and they can't deviate too far to fix it I'm afraid.
It's funny, Witcher 3 Heart of Stone had a similar problem in which it forces you to bang Shani (which really irritated me as I remained faithful to Yen after the romance quest) however, you could evade the romance by failing her side mission/optional quest although it made Geralt look like a jerk for abandoning her in her time of need.

I believe Ubisoft will learn from this in future in a similar way by implementing even more ways to make choices other than dialogue...or maybe they will not chop and change when choices is available.

I do feel sorry for anyone this has soured the game for though after 100s of hours of gameplay.

Well, we're living in the internet times, right? That's why Ubisoft implemented online purchases and shops directly to their games - the thing of another hot discussions.
So, I think that making a pretty huge fix with changing some plans... Isn't it something they can't do in the world of such a huge communication opportunities, right? I mean, the customer is a king in the capitalistic world, and Ubisoft as a company with a big story containing a huge amount of mega-successful games understands it. Some things like plans or something can be changed in order to give the best experience for their loyal players (really, I am already going to buy Watch Dogs 3 this year (Ubi, don't pretend like it doesn't exist)). After the Vivendi hell the company experiences in 2017, they should understand that making people happy = more customers = more money. This rule just works and have always worked in the fair capitalism (at least, I want to believe it).

And yep, all this thing with not predicting the wave of hate is kinda funny. Ubisoft, stop playing Bethesda, you're not in the theater XD
Still, despite all the fun upon this situation, I think that we should politely remind Ubisoft about this failure to make them do something... well, more with it. Maybe.

Good Lord in heaven I could have came up with a better fix than that while in a coma. Fixed? Lol... "waaaa neema waaaa whatshisname" ugh I am so bored. Of all the things I could have bought in this world I had to buy DISAPPOINTMENT in the form of the AC Odyssey season pass gold edition, as well as spend many many $$$ on the store items, believing the game would go somewhere, little did I know it was going towards a brick wall. This is sad. I feel like I have more choice in red dead redemption II which isn't even that choice based. FAIL Ubisoft. I'm outttttttt
