I suppose what I meant was why does it matter? I already know the answer, it doesn't. 😉Originally Posted by Hardboiled300 Go to original post
Yay! ... you are correct, it doesn't matter, it is just a preference.Originally Posted by garymjh Go to original post![]()
I dunno. I get the impression that the PINK instead of BLUE is not aesthetic preference but that it offends his manly masculinity.Originally Posted by PaddyWak Go to original post
Well now that you say that, it is my impression that you are here to either try to belittle him because of your "impression" that he is offended or because you are affected in some way by your "impression" of him when it really doesn't affect or offend you unless you let it ... which is kinda your point to him.Originally Posted by garymjh Go to original post
Wow ... now it seems I'm trying to do something similar you!
See how this nonsense goes ...?
Shall we drop it before we both become FJW's ... (forum justice warrior's) ... lol ...![]()
We can joke here about pink colour....But PINK is a problem! Many gamers didn't buy the game only because of "pinky-zation" of the game. I'm sure - New Dawn in normal green colors would bring in more profit! Thanks to Pink Ubisoft only lost money. Have the game attracted more women? Doubtful. Women are not insects to be atracted by some sort of colours. You need much more for that. The saddest thing that the game itself is not bad!
Thats how things work in Hollywood films: Here are the tools and within 2 minutes its solved! In real life we are (well most) dump founded unless these tools were meant for dummies such as myself! Tried to look for tutorials etc but nothing. Can it really be that hard to replace pink with blue ?Originally Posted by PaddyWak Go to original post
There's a premade ReShade profile for the game called Apex ReShade. It doesn't remove the pink but it does make light look brighter, shadows look darker, and the game overall less color saturated. Normally I think of colors looking washed out when I hear less saturated, but this game's colors are over saturated to the point of looking a bit cartoonish. Basically what it does is make the pink not look hot pink, like some extreme sports graphics everywhere. This may be an acceptable alternative until you can find a pink removing profile.
Here's a video that amply shows the differences, even in 4K if you have the ISP speed to stream that res.
As I said it seems more dificult than it is ... did you get as far as installing reshade?Originally Posted by Hardboiled300 Go to original post
Here is a tutorial on how to install reshade (from the video descriptionFrag_maniac linked too) ... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JUzRMp4weZA
If you can manage to install reshade then maybe I can help you with the next step.
Or frend me on uplay (maybe we can talk) although based on when you post I think we might be in different time zones ... and once you have reshade installed I can perhaps help you to the right shaders/settings?
@ Frag_Maniac ... Hey ... long time no see ...... I kinda miss the WSGF ... most guys on there are so helpful to each other.
Thanks for that link ...
Yeah it is the over saturated nature of the colours in the game that had me wanting to change the pink and the reds ... as you say it makes it less cartoonish.
I desaturate the colours of many games for exactly that reason.
Once again ... Cheers bud.
Agree. Nature only a part of the whole picture. Variagated red and pinky outposts, vehicles, enemies' outfits, colorful weapons, animals....everything is interconnected. Changing pink to blue is not enough. Better variant would be a mod from developers! With more or less realistic colours. Many of those gamers who didn't buy the game because of pink would change their mind. (For example, The Last of Us looked rather good without all those super-vivid colours.)Originally Posted by PaddyWak Go to original post![]()
I hadn't recognized your name from WSGF, but then it's been a hella long time since I hung out there. Odd you should say everyone's so laid back there because I got booted for a while for the way I argued a point on Nvidia's shall we say business practices. It wasn't a very long ban but I've stayed clear ever since due to one of their staff talking down to me like I was stupid just for having a difference of opinion on the matter. That of course lead me to saying some things that were a bit beyond forum rules, but I don't regret it one bit. The odd thing is one of their head guys kept sending me newsletter updates and then asked if I wanted to come back, but I told him I'm good without it. It quite frankly was getting to the point where they'd only discuss games that were WS supported well, or very immature (for a younger audience) in nature.Originally Posted by PaddyWak Go to original post
It's odd about saturation, because usually I have to set my display up 5 to 10 clicks on color warmth when I change from TV or net to gaming. It's a Panasonic IPS with CCFL back lighting though, and since most games are probably color calibrated for LED lit displays these days, it's no wonder I have to crank it up a bit. I'll probably leave this one at the setting I use for TV and net though.
On ReShade and SweetFX, I usually avoid them like the plague because I find they usually add black crush, making very dark scene look too dark. On top of that my Panny TV already exhibit a fair amount of black crush on it's own. The only exception I've ever seen is a ReShade profile for Mafia II made by a guy that goes by the name Nyclix. His is the only ReShade or SweetFX mod I've ever used that I didn't immediately uninstall due to too much black crush, and it not only makes that game look WAY better, it actually makes it perform better too.
If you're reading this OP, that is one ReShade modder I would trust to know what he's doing with a color correction mod for this game. So you might want to try to send him a comment on one of his mods uploaded to YT.
Skip to the 5:54 point to see how the mod looks (the audio cuts in and out, it's not your PC, the mod has no such affect on the game though)
