Hey folks,
After I picked up the game with a friend of mine to play the NG+ mode I thought of having another go at the editor.
Now as it stands it's rather frustrating for me due to some old problems and new ones that occured with my old finished maps.
1. Grass:
Grass patches are still not adjustable to the slopes they are set on when added through the F5 menu.
Example: If I place my grass patch on a slope like in the picture the grass patch stays horizontal no matter what you do. If I place it via a vegetation group (2nd Screenshot) the grass adjusts itself to the slope accordingly but you have no control where the grass goes as it is randomized.
I wish we can have grass, that reacts to the terrain accordingly like vegetation group items do.
2. Gizmo
The gizmo to rotate grass patches got removed:
I am not sure why this got deleted or patched out of the editor but you cannot even turn patches around the z-axis anymore, making grass lines look uniform and unrealistic:
Pls at least bring back the Z-Axis rotation..
3. Light Management Volumes
At first I was really exited to see a light volume controller but it turns out you can only control RGB Occlusion with it (i.e. make your room appear a mix between Blue,Green,Red) and cannot really be used to create realistic transitions between indoor lighting and outdoor lighting.
For example the following 2 screenshots are taken with the editor. Underground/indoor structures are softlit without a visible lightsource. The second picture is captured with a higher red ambient bounce.
Is it possible to achieve something like this lighting in the editor without having to tweak the overall map time to something at night?
That would be nice. Those are just my wishes for the editor, to make more realistic and atmospheric maps. I would love to hear if the editor still gets improved or worked on or any kind of feedback on how to achieve the wished results with the current build of the editor.
TL;DR: Is it possible to A: get grass patches in the F5 menu that react accordingly to the slopes they are placed at? B: Get back the gizmo to rotate grass patches? C: Create realistic lighting settings between outdoor and indoor lighting?
I hope I get a response to those issues/wishes, because otherwise I think this is a fantastic editor and I have alot of fun with it. Those slight improvements would do alot for projects I have in mind.
Best regards,
Kolibree
Arcade is somewhat dead on the forums, the Facebook groups are pretty good still though!

I may have some free-placeable grass objects in my upcoming editormod. As for the indoor/outdoor lighting settings, I was hoping to find some AmbientInterior volume object that I could use.But so far, it looks like I could only do that in Far Cry 4 tech...![]()
My editormod indeed has some vegetation objects you can rotate on the Z-axis, some even as "GFXONLY" objects that may not move/be affected by collisions.
It's released now, for PC only:

I'm assuming no from this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dcX8nn8KTZs
I thought they patched-out the redhorn error a long time ago. But it sounds like some are still having that problem... There are ways to make the light volumes work more realistically. I was thinking about making a tutorial on it. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to achieve the extremely realistic lighting in your third screenshot. For getting a darker room, I recommend the following: all ambient RGB light dropped to 0.01, sky occlusion settings very low, and an effective reflection volume (I recommend warehouse or underground).
