After playing the Beta, a lot, I realized something missing from the Division 2, is it me or is it just simply that the Devs
forgot that video games are supposed to be fun?
Not just about balancing and making min maxing youtubers happy,
we, the people, play videos games to have fun... did we really have "fun" with this beta?
You tell me...
Can't say that I haven't enjoyed every second of the alpha and betas. Even when things have gone haywire in terms of glitches or audio desyncs, I've had a blast. As a solo player, I've enjoyed the difficulty of the Hard missions with a level eight character and can't wait to get a group together for the challenging stuff.
Not sure about Division two. I've played the free beta for the weekend and found it quite hard. Mind you, I am a poor loser and had to re-spawn a lot. Some missions took me a few tries and it stressed me out a bit. Some of it was fun and I suppose I'm comparing it to Division one where it was quite easy to find your way around the safe houses and base of operations. Still undecided whether to buy the full version. Might leave it for a while.
That "leveled up" mission?
I tried that for an hour solo before I gave up. If that's what I can expect for late game solo content, I'm no way staying with the Division or looking too hard at The DLC.
I know that the base game was "mostly fun" solo and a little moreso with a partner but it did lack that same sense of "saving the day" that we had in Div1. Back in Div1, we started from nothing and built up a base and saved a city. In Div2, I feel a lot more like a guest in other people's work. It's clever and all but it fails (so far) to capture my "I'm the one making a difference" and leaves me feeling very much like everyone would be fine without me.
