But I understand the longing for old school technical tracks, some of us devs also love them.

Great thing is that the editor allows anyone to create just the type of driving lines they want and also Rising has some more technical later levels that are inspired by old school tracks. I for one am excited to see what kind of technical tracks people will create.
Good to know some of the devs like them too, look forward to playing the later technical tracks very soon!

So many of the old HD and EVO players disappeared with Fusion (including me) - I haven't been on this forum for years - but fingers crossed I hope to see a few of these old names back making tracks again.

After barely playing Trials Fusion, I've been looking forward to getting back in to a Trials game again. Rising definitely seems like an improvement to Fusion for me, although not on the same level as HD/Evo, it should still be fun!

I'm just hoping these Ninja tracks that contribute to the global boards aren't too ridiculous....haha

Agreed, the gold standard is HD imho, so I haven’t been around during Fusion. Different or not Rising seems promising after staying up all night playing even though I have yet to unlock the harder tracks, so I reserve the right to change my opinion until Mantis and extreme tracks are unlocked on my end. The crate thing seems a lot of unnecessary filler but I appreciate that you can keep progressing without the need to constantly open them. Looking forward to seeing other old schoolers potentially return to the franchise. Regards.

HD was king when it came to driving lines IMO. I really enjoyed reading this topic. Good to see some old “faces” again.

I do miss the old days too, I have been AWAL for years now, playing casually and exclusively on Track Central, not that Fusion and Rising are bad by any means but as many have stated, the overuse of flat surfaces at the detriment of bumpy obstacles is a big factor in me losing interest. As with flowing lines, I totally get why people like them but what I have always liked better is maps that you have to find some flow despite the map having none, like the real life thing. I used to get criticized for my maps not having flow back in the HD days when I could actually be bothered to create stuff but that's just the way I roll.

I have been very vocal about how disappointed I was that this once indie franchise got mainstream and I knew from the very day of the announcement that the game as I knew it would change and not really for the better, but what is most disappointing about Rising is that behind all this corporate greed nonsense and artificial progression lies the foundation for a stellar game but plagued with a dreadful menu and needless grinding. Track Central is once again crippled by not giving the user proper ways to navigate through the heaps of track, it absolutely boggles my mind how the Track Central UI squanders its potential, the editor is such a masterpiece but the menus feel like they were an afterthought, it just doesn't do the editor justice at all. I'll keep playing it but casually, almost exclusively on Track Central, I just hope it gets straightened out though as navigation of TC is just plain awful IMO.

Hi to all the familiar faces and OGs, it's good to see you all again.

I too long for the days of more technical driving lines. As a speedrunner, "getting airtime" feels bad. I want to stay on the ground as much as possible in a trails game.

Seeing the OG's back on the forums has got me excited for the future of this game. I will do my part and promote the track creators I think share my vision of what makes trials "fun."
