I don't understand blue cheese but there's a lot folks eating it. No shame in that, eat your stinky cheese.
I'll be making technical tracks, you can count on that.

^^^ MurdocLoch it's great to see you on here again, thought you might have left for good.
Have you tried Rising? What you think about the new extreme track in the open beta? I'm not great at the game but does it not seem technical like you suggest?
My skill level is no where near as good as yours was/is and I still recall being inspired to finally clear my first extreme track after you posted your little kid no faulting Brown Boxes (I was blown away!).
Either way, good to see you back man.

I've been playing the beta on my laptop with mad stutter so it's tough to gauge. Gotta get my xbox back to give a full report. Brown Boxes is a great reference for an extreme track. lots of bumps and required input like switch jumps to get through it. That bike was also really bouncy - it made sticking to inclines significantly harder. Evo's bike made it possible to ride straight up walls & fusion nerfed the bike even further into casual land. I.E. as the game progressed it required less skill to have success.
From the tracks I played in the closed & open betas, I'd say that trend has continued.
I agree with you completely Murdoc. The required inputs have been decreased for sure. The days of truly technical obstacles died with HD, with an exception to some Evo ninjas. I brought it up to Muscles once, and he said it was because of the bike that he had to simplify his lines.
I look forward to you bringing it back. I miss you, Misaccused, Willyumz, Snipen, Monstified, Skumbag, and Heetsauce’s lines.
Ill try to contribute to the cause as well.
Yo xzamplez, good to see those list of names again. I'm glad that there are still players like you out there that enjoy the struggle. What a treat it would be to see the old Voltron crew back in action. Unfortunately, I think it would take a miracle for that to happen.Originally Posted by xzamplez Go to original post
Thanks for chiming in & the vote of confidence.
The probable answer is no it won't go back to it's roots. I think the reason most people aren't understanding TheKisKunk and Murdoc's point of view is that they were most likely not part of the trials custom track community back in the late stages of Trials HD. You know, when you acutally had to have the person on your friends list to play their tracks and then had to manually post your scores on trialshd.net.
Now I never played Trials SE, I did play the original Trials game when I was very young but then didn't stumble upon Trials HD until late on. I quickly got into custom track building but it took me a while like most people to really understand how to play trials.
Hopefully there will be enough of us that like the old school technical rough driving lines to keep them alive and encourage more builders to follow suit.
I've always been a fan of real life trials riding and and watching competitions on youtube really gives a good idea of which driving lines should actually be considered trials at all.
