It was said by a wise man thousands of years ago! You can't be out of politics. People always in politics. Animals don't need politics. Politics begins in kindergarten. "I don't play with him", "Let's be friends against him or her", "Don't talk with him" - do you remember this?! This is politics! If you think you can be out of politics - you are fool. And you should clearly take your poisition! If you are intelligent being. You should clearly see - which side are you are! Don't ask Ubisoft to be out of politics. They push their own agenda. Agenda of their Bosses. If you don't like it - make your own company and push your own!

Sales imply otherwise. Maybe you are in the minority.

Sales don't reflect quality, it simply means not many were willing to give it a chance

Look at how well The Last Jedi did at the movie theaters and that movie was garbage

I just feel bad for the poor lady stuck at the Pantry Outpost (next to the workbench) who since day one of my play through has been trying her best to crowbar that dang container open every time I scavenge then retake the outpost.

ps - I even tried to help her once by placing "two" remote explosives on it to no avail and yet she's still there, grunting and slaving away on that container........

You're welcome to your opinion, but I think FC5 was the better game in many respects. Mainly because it gave you the freedom to play the game however you wanted, instead of locking things away behind crafting barriers. Which just feels cheap and frustrating to me.

New Dawn has some really nice touches to it and improvements over FC5 in some respects, sure. But in my opinion ND is one step forwards, two steps back.

The ending to 5 made me feel like i wasted my time

The ending to New Dawn was bitter sweet because
    Spoiler:  Show
i wanted to kill Joseph but not on his terms (instead i left him to a "to the pain" fate),
despite this i still feel New Dawn is better and 5 doesn't work without it
Therefore in my opinion New Dawn is the better game

I would dispute the bolded bit. One of the biggest frustrations I had with FC5 was that it did NOT in fact allow me to play how I wanted. As soon as you completed a couple activities in a region (i.e. nowhere near all of them) you were forced into a confrontation with the region boss and as soon as you killed that boss enemies in that region stopped spawning. I felt this restricted the total freedom you usually expect in an open-world game.

Overall, I'd say the Far Cry franchise has been in a slow but steady decline. FC3 is still my favourite, Blood Dragon was a hoot, FC4 was good but it felt like it was missing some of the magic that 3 had, Primal was a bit meh and FC5 had that frustrating progression system and a story ending that, while certainly unique and ballsy on the part of the writers, was ultimately unsatisfying as a player. I came in to New Dawn knowing it wasn't a full entry in the series and was just intended to be a bit of fun using the FC staple mechanics and it has been satisfying in that regard, though certainly not a game changer.

Perhaps it's time for Ubisoft to look at doing an AC-style revamp of this franchise as well? The formula is starting to feel a tad stale.
