As I generally play offline (PS4) and not with a GFH or FFH seems FCND game has changed that proclivity of mine with their Boomer replacement Timber. "He" at present, in my first play through of the game has 85 kills and I still have 8 more outposts to bring up to Level 3 and the Refinery Outpost still sets at Level 1 (partly because I keep thinking to myself - IF THE GAME IS ALL ABOUT "ETHANOL" why hasn't this dang Outpost coughed any up???).
Timber is amazing though, for if one puts ethanol into Training and maxes it out it appears he can take out anyone up to a Level 3 (save the Flamer guys and provided ya use him properly). NOTE: I have a junker SA-50 pumping out 1000 damage and with AP ammo I can head-shot ELITES - so I haven't risked putting him up against them.....
He is the only GFH/FFH I use in New Dawn - he is better than the Hunter's instinct potion in FC5 - he highlites loot for ya and he literally digs up stuff "everywhere" even from guys ya have already looted - provided ya use him correctly.
How many kills does he have for YOU?
PS - up to 116 kills now......... : )
I noticed a "Favorite GFH" thread in which many listed Timber as their favorite - HE IS MINE, (albeit he is a FFH not a GFH) and at this point in my game he is up 165 Kills. I find him most helpful on Expedition Missions (provided you have Max'd out your Training level at Prosperity) - seems there is a ton of loot goodies I noticed that Youtubers miss by getting detected before actually acquiring "the Package" - there are safes and such in everyone I have done - which Timber reveals along with all the bad guys - fwiw he is quite mobile and very handy on the Alcatraz building and from the outside once ya get to the roof you can send him to all levels of the building and mark everyone in the whole place - then using him and your stealth clearing the entire building ya have the run of the place as well as all the goodies marked. This allows ya to plan your escape route before actually picking up the package. (found this out on my first Expedition, the aircraft carrier), when I forgot he was "hook'd up and he turned out to be quite useful - as I took the time for him to get onto the carrier before I swam and laddered my way up. I have never left him behind and he has proven to be a certified bad@$$, tough and nope nary a death one (but then I generally do not send him against "multiple" enemies, but singles up to Level III are no problem).
He'll let ya know when animals are near ya - both hostile and non-hostile, easily detectable which
He'll find loot ya missed on bad guys
He'll find gears, components and duct tape everywhere
He'll even warn ya to stop and repair the Fuel Truck ya stole before it blows up (do not IGNORE this warning - as I learned this the hard way and even though I was "dead" blown up and outta the burning vehicle, Timber, who was setting right beside me came and revived me - I laughed my @$$ off as he was "singed" from nose to tail, felt bad for him, due to my stupidity....)
I am completely aware it's just a game but Timber here has completely changed my view of a FFH actually helping - surely I am not the only one keeping up with Timber's kill count, so I'll ask again - how's he doing for YOU?
