New TeamKilling System - Reverse Friendly Fire State

    Hello all!

News on incoming changes during Y4:
After your first team kill in a match, you will enter a "reverse friendly fire" state. This means, anytime you attack a friendly from that point in the match, you will have that damage instead reflected back at you.

    Explanation with in-game example:

I'd love to hear some feedback and reactions to this change! Let us hear your thoughts!

    -----UPDATE-----

The Dev blog with more details is here! There are a few new changes, including the new option to forgive a TK if you believe it was unintentional.

Well the community is asking quiet long time now for a Forgive option. This solution, the ricochet damage is a pure ubisoft comedy, for 10 years old kids... Squads or duos, or trios can still easily abuse this garbage system anytime with 1 free kill for each member of a toxic squad, don`t you think? You going to play the lets see what community says T-Talk again? What feedback do you need? Developers can`t figure out this by themselves? Sorry to be a little harsh but this is a comedy!

You're argument contradicts itself even with a "forgive me" option it will be abused. I run in front of you and you TK me. I choose not to forgive and boom you're out.

This way with ricochet damage the teamkilling loses it goal to hurt the team instead of a match starting 3v5 its going to start 4v5

I'm calling it a compromise..but how does it address gang team killing against the same person or revenge killing?

I assume that you're sanctioned for the rest of the match..but can you confirm this Zoro?

I'm also going to assume that there are going to be changes in team killing bans as you won't be able to tk more than once? So, I'm probably going to be as careful as I can unless I accidentally tk someone, after which I'll probably get way more aggressive because my allies are safe. This could be seen as a good thing or a bad thing, but FF is basically being taken away from me after I incur a sanction.

All in all I guess it's a simplistic tk system upgrade, but it has its caveats and leaves out a few work-arounds that I would have like to have seen addressed. I'd like to see an expanded explanation on the new system when it hits the press .

This is the funniest method of discouraging team-killing I have ever seen! However, I doubt it will be too effective, as trolling will still be rather easy. A 1 team kill maximum is also rather low. I have legitimately played the game and accidentally team killed 3 people in one game, at the most (feels bad). Perhaps it should be 2 team kills before the damage reverses?

This new system may address the team killing, but it can be bypassed by simply downing people instead. This means that people who select Caveira can simply down a whole team and just leave afterwards. not getting punished in the process.

Can we just get a TK vote kick that doesn't require the full team or is more a punish given to the Victim This doesn't solve when 2 or 3 people are trolling. They take turn TKing so they don't get kicked , This has just as much effect as second TK auto kick but this is harmful to team play. some times accidental TK happen this is just going to punish people who accidentally TK . and cause the team to lose

Exactly just add a punish button

Its only a joke if you don’t believe in progress! This toxic team kiling epidemic has gotten so out of control and it’s about time something like this is being done! I applaud the effort. It’s a start. Without corrupting the original gameplay mechanics of friendly fire being a hazard for attackers, Ubisoft took a HUGE step in trying to improve game health and overall quality experience for the people that just want to play this game in peace.

Toxic trolls will find loopholes in whatever solution is brought to the table. Unfortunately you can change some of the gameplay mechanics but you can’t change people.

Thank you Ubisoft for taking the first step in your attempt to weed out toxicity.

I don't think the explanation and video match up to be honest.

Based on the actual speech and earlier video showing the activation of the TK system I understood it as this. From the first blue on blue damage the TK system will warn you and from their it will sanction you and reduce your health as you continue to shoot at your team members.

My understanding is that it does not require an actual kill, it's just that in the video the first damage was a headshot so it's misleading. The earlier video shown during the broadcast shows it a little clearer.
