WAS going to buy until I found this out about hiring NPC's

I have played Far Cry since the First one.. to sum up I actually thought 5 was the best of them all.. only thing I wished was the ability to have at least 3 NPC's with me to have a great team!
I usually only used the random solders you could hire, as they seemed better than the supposed guns for hire.. exceptions were Boomer and Peaches..
I really was hoping they would expand this new concept so i could run 2 guns for hire along with one of the animal npc's//
Instead they now have one ONE at a time and NO random soldiers to hire?? BIG step backwards..
I am thinking this will be the first Far Cry release I skip on!

the only spinoff part is the continuing story!
EVERYTHING else they screwed up! From all the reviews and vids I have seen..
The stupid numbers flying out of enemies.. (bullet sponges)
Less ability to pick npc's to make a team..
The new way of getting and upgrading weapons looks way messed up!
    and much much more....
This could have been a winner if they only listened to what people were asking for in 5.. the changes in 5 were all great just needed a bit of tweaking..
I'm am soo bummed the fact I'm posting here is an example as I have never done so for any other versions..

    I’m with you man.....

I LOVED THE GUNS FOR HIRE mechanic!!

I would like for them to expand that mechanic as well...

I was really confused why they dropped the companion you could have to only 1....? Why do that??

But now you’re saying there’s no random Guns for Hire/Soldiers??

    Really? Is that true?

Really? You won't play or even try an entire game because you disagree about the guns for hire?.... OK. Horatio (the boar) is worth a small army of soldiers. But I guess you'll never find out why.

I've also skipped new dawn but for totally different reasons. Had they gotten rid of the gun for hire mechanic all together might've been a bit of incentive to pick it up! I thought the GFH system was lame AF and hope they do not pursue it going forward... agree about most of the other lame elements of ND though, the pre-modded weapon crafting and bullet sponge enemies look dumb as $#!+...

I don't understand these comments (and I've seen a few) about bullet sponge enemies. After you've upgraded your guns, (which is less than halfway through the game) the combat offers no challenge at all in most situations until you get to the very end. The stealth remains consistently challenging and enjoyable though.

i don't understand how people hate on optional features

it's incentive to try out single player as it's unavailable for Co Op
if people don't want to use it and challenge themselves that's totally an option, you are never forced to use the option

Totally agree with you! Really wanted that Ubisoft expand Guns For Hire mechanics, not reduce it.
