So i just got into For Honor because its free for playstation plus and its for the most part great so far! I have however just run into an issue that sadly makes the game unplayable for me. For starters i played PvE to get the feel of the game, when i got 3 heros to rep 1 i decided to try my luck in some PvP duels and it went really well. I played for a couple of hours and won most of them. After that i decided to go back to PvE with a new hero. Now every AI i face is level 3 and they are destroying me.
I searched online and found a forum thread from 2017(!) that brought up a similar issue. The Community Manager UbiNoty replied
"That's very...strange and I'll alert the team and have them look into it. Bot level in PvAI is based off of your PvP rating (it's kind of a rough way to estimate what level bots we should put you against), but seeing as you are only at a very low rep it seems unlikely you would have been able to rack up enough PvP skill rating to warrant level 3 bots in PvAI.
Can you send in a ticket to support about this, and I'll be mentioning it to the team on my end too!"

How has nothing been done yet? How is this issue, which completely breaks the game not being adressed?
I haven't heard a lot of reports of this problem facing newer players, but there was a skill level reset recently as the team works on changes to matchmaking. I would think this would impact skilled players who used to have level 3 bots the most (i.e. people who would have the opposite problem to you, getting worse bots than they would like).
I'll pass your concerns to the team. In the meantime, the best thing I can recommend is playing PvP until you start hitting a wall and taking Ls. It's possible your good run of play had a greater impact on your skill rating than it otherwise would have, as everyone's skill has recently been reset.
This is just another example on why we should be able to set our own preferred bot level. Honestly the game has no right to tell me what bot level I 'should' have. Why is the game making that choice for me?
Any other fighting game I usually set the bar higher than I should because I find that to be a better learning tool than fighting some low level AI that will never push my limits. The player should be the one in charge of what difficulty they want. Most of us are dealing with stupid AI level 1 bots and would love to have higher ones, but we have to deal with doing very well in pvp to even set it's difficulty.
Have a bad few matches? Guess that means your bots should be downgraded cause you're just not skilled enough to fight them. Really? That's the system in place?
It's especially bad in 4v4 modes, because losing or winning is a team effort. If you do well, but lose, your bots can get downgraded
We've sent this suggestion to the team previously, but I'll do so again - especially in light of the skill rating reset.Originally Posted by Akadai Go to original post
