    Sound Issue (NPCs)

When playing most games, I don't have my Volume much higher than 8. But in this game I have to have it at 14 just to be able to hear the NPCs talking. Yet at that volume the other noises (gun play, explosions, animals, etc) are very loud.

Will you be adding a separate audio slider for voice/environmental audio or do you know of any other possible fixes.

    thanks in advance.

    Hi, thanks for the feedback,
I will pass your suggestion on to split the volume for the environment, have you tried verifying the files to see if the volume of the NPCs is corrected?
You can find instructions in this FAQ

Yes, I've verified files, re-installed latest Realtek drivers and installed fresh video drivers too.

PS. Thanks for the reply. I've gotten so used to Bethesda not replying to anyone on their own forum it truly came as a shock to jear from you.

We're sorry to hear that didn't help.

What kind of sound setup are you using? If it's set to Surround Sound try changing to stereo to see if this makes a difference to the sound.

Could you please provide us with a video example of that occurring, MC1_Judge?

Just a basic stereo set-up, I'm not that fancy.

    i5-7600K,
    MSI GTX 1060 Gaming,
    MSi z270 Gaming Board,
    16Gb DDR4 RAM
    1Tb SSD
    2560x1080 Ultrawide display

After re-installing the .NET software and all the other guff that comes with games, it seems to have gotten a little better. I also ticked the 'Loudness Equalization' box in my sound settings which seems to have made it a little better.

Hi I've been having problems with the cut scene NPC's having no audio, as i put in my post I've never had to do this for any other game i own but i changed my output settings from surround to stereo and it worked. Hope this can work for you. Click on the little speaker on your task bar and select sounds, then click the tab play back, right click on speakers and select configure speakers then where it says audio chls select stereo. (assuming you use win10)
