    Courtesy in Survival

    Hello all,

I have been playing TD since almost the very beginning, and I have done a lot of great interesting things. I have tried the DZ and didn't enjoy it much. However I do really enjoy the underground and survival.

I have only been playing survival for a month or so and I find it very interesting. The survival PVE is very special and can be very frustrating. However I have an issue with some of my fellow agents.

I know that survival is all about getting as much as you can so that you can get through. However I personally find it rather rude and annoying that people will come along while I am in the middle of a fight and take all the stuff I am trying to get. It's not like there isn't enough stuff around for people, why would you feel the need to swoop in and steal what soemone else is working toward.

From my point of view if you come on someone who is fighting a group of bad guys, and you want to help then do so but allow them to pick up what they want/need. If this means you don't get anything then just move on, but hopefully they will leave you something for helping. If you don't want to help then don't and just move on. If you find someone that is down and you revive them, move along and let them continue what they are doing. If you go to a landmark and hear a gunfight going on then move away and let them either finish or die, unless you want to help.

Here's hoping that maybe more of the agents will be willing to help out and not just take what they can get without working for it.

Cold, thirst, hunger, disease, Npcs ,Hunters and SEAGULLS.
    All these things make Survival.

Just like I say. There is not much honor and fairness in survival.
I leave the people alone doing their stuff, hope they will leave me alone too.
Sometime i must join a fight to pass by, but when I do this i don't steal. Maybe the auto loot grabs some ammo or crafting stuff, but that's not planned.
Also when somebody kills NPC guard some loot i go my way and don't open the boxes somebody else fights for.

When somebody steals i don't revive anybody else in this round.
When my survival box is stolen i follow the thief to the next LM to get the/his box.

Don't know why players want to fight / play for their stuff? On the LM there must be a system to secure the box...

Hank I agree with you, personally I am more concerned with just getting through to the extract so I don't have time bother other people. I have never been able to complete an extraction, due to the blasted hunter. I really hate these guys and just don't know how to deal with them.

Anyway if you happen to see me in game give me a wave and I will do likewise.

The easiest hunter fight IMO is at the DZ02 extraction, with the M44. Call the extraction, the run north to the building across the street, the rappel to the roof of that building. 1-2 shots in the head will take care of the hunter, and he will stay on that side of the street. If he drops a healing bag, run north across the roof to draw him away from the bag, then go back and finish him.

@MstrTarvos; I agree with everything you said, however I am guilty of being on e of those that steal while your fighting. In my defense it was done because the other agents were fighting way down the block and I just saw gear laying there, with no one around.

Wait till there's a PVE DZ Dark Zone in Division 2 where the same thing will happen. Taking down a landmark and someone runs up and grabs everything and all you can do is watch, then they walk over to you and give you a big emote.

I agree with Hammer, best place to take out the hunter is the car park extraction in DZ 2. Using a support station is a good idea too.

Do you know how to handle the hunters in the regular part of the game? If you haven't met them much, I'd suggest going into the Underground on challenging (if you haven't been down there, you'll need a higher-level player to start the game) and fight them there first. In that mode, you'll be stronger and can play slightly safer. If you are on PC, my username is the same, I can take you down there. If you have a D3, depending on how they are built, they can take 3-5 hits to the shield before it breaks. This is great for getting close to them and really seeing what they do. I actually didn't like the D3 due to the way it deploys and removes the shield every time you sprint, take cover, open a door or lootbox, etc. But, I decided to try it against the hunters. After I got past the motion sick issues with the animation of the shield, I loved it. So much so, that it is my de facto set for high risk content.

Anyway, for those who might read this that haven't been around Hunters much, these are the special things about them:

    1. Melee - they have the one hit and you're down melee using their axe. While downed, they often hit you again putting you out of the "down but not out", to out... There is a stupidly large area of effect for their melee animation so don't be too close to any team mates if in melee range. Unless it is lag, I have discovered that once the animation for melee starts, there is no avoiding it.

    2. Disrupt - when they first appear, they will disrupt all your skills. I have had them repeat this in the Underground but thus far not in Survival. They can also hack your turret. Often, I will deploy any skills before they appear. Yes, they disrupt them, but at least they are in place and where you want them to be when the disrupt wears off.

    3. Healing - they can use First Aid and support stations

    4. Maneuverability - These guys move like crazy, easily dodge grenades, use cover better, etc.

    5. Unmarked - I always mark enemies manually using the Z key instead of wasting a skill slot on Pulse. For hunters, they only stay marked just a few seconds. I don't know if it is the same using Pulse or not.

Specifically for Survival, craft a VX-12 early in the match. There are no higher level ones, and it is not available further into the map. I usually craft a high velocity magazine too so later I can use a bolt sniper rifle to take the hunters down. Without that small ~10% increase in speed, there is time for them to heal in between shots. Hammer mentioned the M44. If you can craft a yellow one and put these two mods on, you are in great shape.
One thing I did in Survival is before I fire my flare, I check out escape routes, cover, etc. Know your route to where you are going to set up. Also, be aware when entering the extraction area that if someone died and/or left the game after firing their flare, there could be hunters already there. I got the 10 hunters required for the shield on 2 trips thanks to a group of 4 wiping on one run, and another group of 2 wiping my second run and another group of 2 coming into the extraction I had already started. I asked them if they wanted me to take the hunters out since I was already in position. One of them said "hell yeah, we hate those things". LOL

Aside from DZ02, there is also at least one that offers a stairway with a nice long entry way with no other way out. You can fire the flare and head to the bottom with a LMG with extended mag (if that weapon is better than any Sniper Rifle you have).

I have always revived agents when they are down and leave them fighting their own battle unless I see them go down a time or two in quick succession or I can't get around them. Reviving everyone when I have a medkit is why I need like 70 more 'loot player corpses' for the Vulture commendation.

Thanks for all the great advice guys.

Any thoughts on medicine? Do you start early or wait until it's almost up then use it?
