    Warrior's Den February 14th

    Day of love and anniversaries

And oh, killing each other in a variety of interesting ways \m/<(-.-)>\m/

We have an Eric, we have a Luc.

100th Warrior's Den episode ad two year anniversary of For Honor.

They had a patch that fixed a few bugs.

The skill indicator has been broken a whole so has been removed for now

People accepting an invite and leaving a casual match no longer get quit penalties

They fixed a few shugoki and black prior bugs involving hyperarmour and guaranteed OOS and revenge light bash combos.

    New weekly arcade quest.

Warrior challenge, faction competition for completing any match type.

Tournaments, search For Honor on battlefy.

This week we have a mythic outfit on sale.

To celebrate their anniversary, they will be giving crates and xp boosts to everyone that has played since marching fire. Unless you have received sanctions.

Some of the most dedicated positive players will also get an exclusive ornament.

They showed us some of the behind the scenes people and oh snap, blast from the past, Emile.

Emile was part of the conversations that brought in the livestream going live, it was very ambitious for the time and there were a lot of doubts but they made it work, it has been a good told for interacting with the community and it has built skills within the team.

Emile now works with the digital marketing team and has a hand behind the scenes in all of ubisoft's twitch and youtube channels. It is apparently pretty common for people to bounce around roles in house.

He has co-written a book called Distortion, maybe tv program in the works, based around a podcast he does about weird and strange stories over the internet. If any of you speak French I believe this is the podcast site https://distorsionpodcast.com/

    We have a roaming Roman.

They had a discussion over the last two years, they acknowledged that the launch was rough, games as a service was new and this was a completely new IP in terms of the structure of the game. They are pretty proud of where they are now.

Roman thinks that the Warrior's Den has helped a lot in keeping connections with the players and to keep grounded and keep track of what people think are important or what their priorities are. Even when they don't answer a question because they don't have the answers or it is something they have six months down the line they read all the comments and feedback. There is a lot of care and passion for the game among the team

What does he have to say to keep players excited? There are three new characters due soon, a new event every quarter and next season Lawbringer and Raider mains should be very happy. He said this is a long term commitment and they are not going to stop this year,

They brought in a cosplayer called Pan for a chat.

Pan has cosplayed a ton of ubisoft titles, in terms of For Honor he is a Warden cosplayer and has been since before they launched. You will find him on twitter and instagram at @CosplayPan

Everyone got high pitched voices on helium for this portion.

The cosplay community got a huge boost because quite early they had a a cosplay reference guide, very early, we're talking 2015. Pan got his start in a knight re-enactment back in 2006 which is why he went so deep into Warden.

He is part of a tight knit group of players who really look after others cosplayers in the community.

Advice for cosplayers? If you like it, if you like the character, just do it. It doesn't matter how accurate it is, if you do it for yourself or for fun. Do it for yourself though, not for competitions because that is just so toxic.

    Eric Pope shared some news.

He is going to pursue new ventures in Ubi Montreal, there are some projects starting in the coming weeks that he wants to be a part of, so he will be leaving the Den in the next few weeks.

The Warrior's Den will continue, Luc will be there, others among the dev team from time to time.

On the community side, they have always had a full global community team, Eric has sort of always been the face of it. They have known Eric is leaving for the last few months, they have things in place. Eric knows a lot of the things going forward and he says there is a lot to be excited about.

And that wraps us. They had an AMA on reddit following this that there is a link to pinned in the forum. A link for when it gets unpinned https://forums.ubi.com/showthread.ph...Team-AMA-Recap

I'm going to do you a favor and list the only notable thing from the Den, Candle:

    - Raider buff confirmed for Season 10. Exact words: ''I hope Raider players will be really happy, at least they should be...''. Lawbringer's rework is hitting at the same time.

Goodbye Eric Pope. He's also leaving the project.

Everything else was just the usual fluff and memes.

Yep. He's leaving the team in a couple weeks and going on to do something else in Ubisoft Montreal.

It's a bummer to lose the guy who's been the face of the community management team for more than 2 years on this game.

I dunno man, I can respect how passionate he was about the game, but he didn’t give two sh1ts about us here. He’s the typical Reddit “dude bro”, as someone once said on this forum, and he never clicked with me. “Thanks to Reddit for this, props to
Reddit for this meme, go check Reddit to see this, wow man what a meme, wait, do we have an official forum?”

Better the devil you know than the one you don't. At least Pope knows the backlogue of community requests and complaints and the many issues the community wants addressed. The new guy, if there is even going to be one (still haven't seen or heard from Damien's replacement), will have to re-establish a line of communication with the community from scratch.

Honestly, this could take so long to establish that by the time the team start listening to the worthwhile parts of the community's feedback again it'll possibly be by the end of this year. Say what you will about Pope but at least he was here long enough to learn from the many mistakes that were made by the FH dev and marketing teams as well as the community itself. Losing that experience and starting from scratch is tiresome.

I guess Corentin jinxed the Pope situation hardcore.

Good riddance is all I'll say. Definitely not a good community medium or influence on the game.
