    FOV locked

FOV slider is once again locked when using Nvidia Surround.. Just like with FC5. An FOV of 60 IS NOT ENOUGH, please allow us to change this.

    Hi rayden,
Could you confirm for me whether the FOV slider is available to you if you are playing on a single monitor ?
    Thanks

Yes it is available then. It also becomes available again if I use 3 monitors and drop the resolution to 3840x960 (obviously that's not a solution as the game looks pretty ugly at a lower res)
It's only on 5760x1080 that the slider is greyed out.

I have the same issue with Nvidia Surround 3x 1080p @ 5760x1080. This has happened before and I had a support ticket for the same exact issue for Far Cry 5 and no one did anything about it since launch. The worst thing about it when you do a support ticket it will automatically close in 4 days regardless if it has been fixed by Ubisoft, you have to constantly go back and re open it.

I am going to post the screen shots in a few minutes regarding this bug/purposely done mistake, to back up the OP. Ubisoft ticket support system is pointless they really just don't care or else FC5 would of fixed this same issue by now.

Till I finish uploading the screens for this Bug you can see in the other thread and my post showing the same exact issue for Far Cry 5: https://forums.ubi.com/showthread.ph...8#post13405708

Like I said I made a support ticket regarding this issue and nothing was ever done and it was ignored for pretty much a year. The Dev team has purposely locked the FOV only for the multi screen mode for Nvidia Surround and Eyefinity and have locked the FOV to 60(for both Far Cry 5 and New Dawn). The crazy thing is the tip for FOV states "Increasing default value may help with motion sickness" yet the Dev team purposely locked the FOV to 60 which is the absolute worse you could do with such a massive resolution it needs at least 110.

Anyways I am almost done uploading the screens...

Here are all the screens to support this issue that the FOV is locked only for multi screen mode, single screen works 100% correctly. The FOV has been purposely locked by the Dev team only for this specific mode. They actually added extra UI code that checks IF you have set the [ Window Mode ] to multi screen and then they [ Trigger ] code that forces the FOV to a value = to 60 and gray out the UI so the user can not change it.

    * please note to the MOD / staff on this forum any frustration or anger is not targeted at you but rather the support ticket system and the Dev team *

Here are the supporting screens to the locked UI and locked FOV at 60 for the multi screen mode:

Eyefinity/Nvidia Sourround aka Multi screen Mode:

    * the Dev team purposely has locked the FOV to 60, customers can not change it the FOV UI element it is locked yet single screen users can change the FOV what ever they want and past 110 *

Multi screen - Eyefinity / Nvidia Surround mode:

FOV is locked to 60 and the UI is locked and grayed out a customer can not change it

You can not change the FOV in multi screen mode it is forcefully locked by the Dev team

    Single screen mode:

I can change the FOV to anything I want and even go past 110, the UI is active and not grayed out or locked

Here you can see the FOV UI element is active and you can change it in single screen mode unlike the locked multi screen mode:

FOV comparison shots to show just how unplayable and terrible it is on Multi screen mode that is locked 60 FOV unlike the FOV on single screen mode which I set to 110:

FOV set to 110 for a 1080p single screen mdoe:

Multi screen mode at 5760x1080 with the forced locked FOV of 60(no user can change this modes FOV), a user has no choice and is forced to play at a 60 FOV

    * Make sure you zoom in on the the mutti screen shots to see how bad it is, this will give you the proper effect of how bad the FOV is compared to the single screen mode *

Again my anger is not targeted at the MOD of this forum but rather Ubisoft's support ticket system and the actual development team they 100% don't care. If the Dev team where actual PC gamers they would know no one ever plays at a 60 FOV on very large resolutions so why forcefully lock it to all the mutli screen users at the lowest setting possible. Why not allow us equal FOV options like the single screen users? It makes no sense what so ever.

I think this time around if nothing is going to be resolved I am going to talk to a few Game Journalists that are my friends in large sites that have pre agreed to make a large article regarding this issue(s) and how Ubisoft ticket support system treats their customers and how the Dev team treats multi screen users.

So again to the MODs that reads these posts this frustration is not targeted at you but you can understand that after waiting for a year on Far Cry 5 to be fixed and then to have the same issue happen again to Far Cry New Dawn is pretty discouraging. At this point I feel like never buying another Far Cry game again.

I really hope this issue is taken seriously and the staff here can elevate this issue and something is finally done about it. Thanks for understanding.

"It also becomes available again if I use 3 monitors and drop the resolution to 3840x960 " well really it is just locked at 78 FOV for that resolution(3840x960) for you can not increase the FOV UI element past 78 for that resolution. So basically it is just as bad as the locked 60 FOV for 5760x1080, the only difference is the UI is not grayed out / locked but in fact it is still useless since you can't go past 78 FOV limit that has been set unlike in single screen mode that goes up to 120.

The real solution is to give multi screen users the same FOV range as the single screen users and let us pick what ever we want.

I too am having the same issue in Nvidia Surround. You guys added the FOV slider in Eyefinity/Surround mode on FC5, so why is it an issue for FCND, or did it simply get "overlooked"? Did you guys even test play the game in surround beyond simply looking to see if it worked? It's not a matter of personal taste, It gives you a nasty headache in like 10 minutes of play when it's zoomed in so tight.

This is verified as impacting me as well, and everything posted -- and teh screen shots -- is correct. In surround/eyefinity the FOV is greyed out and locked at 60. I would refund the game except it took more than 2 hrs to get the headache and then wonder why. Playing a game with an FOV of 60 literally causes motion sickness in a lot of people. Even if it does not, it is hard to look at because it is like sitting with your nose pressed up against the display.

This needs fixed ASAP, because as it stands I cannot play the game. I refuse to play in game in 2019 that requires me to us 1920x1080 single monitor. That stopped being acceptable around 2016.

Strongly urge UBISoft to make this part of their development core requirements, because a lot of their titles get released with similar problems.

Apparently you can't edit posts.... forgot to be more clear that this creates a liability fro UBISoft because it is a player health issue.
