MY NUMBER 1,2,3 and 4th ASK. And this isn't just me - this is a minimum of 20 of my IRL gamer friends --- MAKE IT CROSSPLAY. Divide it up in any way you want - but for the majority of the gamers its PVE - let us play with our friends. Maybe just allow crossplay groups in 1 DZ at a time? IDK - but there are options that won't make the community freak out about being unfair. And if PS4 doesn't want to play - at least open up xbox and PC. If you do this, sales will be so much higher, and the community will be so much healthier over the years. No more waiting for matchmaking after the game has been out for a year..... oh it would be amazing.
Love the direction from the alpha - but i've got some feedback around the PC controls:
1. PLEASE take (or allow the option) to take the specialization out of the normal weapon scroll cycle. The weapon switching animations are too slow in general, and when you add the specialization weapon into it, with the extended animation and audio - it becomes a huge pain when you scroll the wrong way, or just want to use the mouse fly wheel to cycle through and change weapons. SOLUTION: I assumed since the specialized weapons took the place of our ultimate, I would be able to push "T" to bring out the weapon. That's a way more elegant solution, and builds off the controls we all know and love from TD1. I'd even love to get the pistol out of the rotation (more like console controls - but I know that's probably a niche request). But for real - LET ME US "T" TO ACTIVATE THE SPECIALIZATION AND TAKE IT OUT OF THE ROTATION.
2. Sniper rifles. I didn't like the auto down the scope. Some cases I don't want to go down scope. Being forced into it is tough. I have over 10,000 sniper kills in TD1, even though they weren't super viable for a lot of PVE scenarios. I was super excited to see the revamp and "gasp" maybe even be able to use it in PVP?!?!? But going down scope immediately will really hamper it.
- Also felt the sensitivity when zoomed in was way too high, and no way to alter it in the settings.
- Being forced to go out of scope after every bullet was unnecessary. I tried to get into it for a while, but it just added to it being less fun to snipe compared to the first game.
- Stagger - keep the stagger for sniper rifles in PVP - but ditch it for shotguns. I think you've done an amazing job of bringing the potential of long range damage to PVP - and if you keep stagger in for snipers, it'll incentive people to try to use them.
Those are really the major control issues I had. Everything either felt and looked great to me, or at least headed on the right path. Please please take a look at the controls - if these things are left in, like i said just make the game less fun. I love TD1 and I want to be able to hopefully enjoy this game for the next three years as well. Appreciate allowing the feedback.
