I'm no expert, so I can't say what is good and what is broken in The Division. I hope the devs have the right people to figure things out. So I will give my feedback in form of "fun" and "not so fun". But first of all I'd like to thank you for the opportunity to participate in the beta.
Fun:
- Exploration. Feels rewarding and interesting. It is nice to have all this hidden loot and locked doors.
- Settlements upgrade. Feels fun so far. It is nice to have something to invest to.
- Optional tasks on the missions like this Suit 3 key. Please more of this. It is fun to find secret and optional rooms.
- Invaded Missions. Black Tusk in general.
- AI. Especially Black Tusk. I really enjoyed how tactical they are, how they flank and push you. I love the way how they communicate to each other and do comments on a player’s actions. Very fun.
- Specializations. Great addition! I love all of them. They all feel unique and fun as is.
- New skill system. I’m in love with new control mechanics. It’s really fun to control the seeker. And it feels rewarding when you manage to explode it just in time, especially the Airburst seeker. I liked how you can scare the enemies with seekers making them out of cover just to call the seeker back and set a new target for it while your teammates do the rest. Pulse Drone is my favorite skill so far, mostly because it feels almost like I have a pet.
- New itemization. All new talents, attributes, mods, brand sets and all this. I see so much potential for build diversity.
- PvP in the DZ. Feels much more accessible. It is much easier to defend yourself. And to attack. Very nice.
- Conflict PvP. Interesting and dynamic. Even when the opponent team occupies the roof and it is almost impossible to win, it is fun to invent a strategy how to assault the roof and defeat them.
Not so fun:
- Lack of civilians in the open world. No civilian scavengers on the streets, no homeless in the sewers. No occasional music or talkings from windows in a building. The town feels dead.
- The DZ is empty and has nothing to do other than clearing landmarks. No loot crates, no resources… Nothing to explore. Most of the buildings are inaccessible. Random patrols are rare…
- Grey Rogue status. Just not fun. There is no reason to go grey rogue. Probably, yet. Maybe in a full release we will get some nice reward for finding the thieves den, but for now it gives you nothing. No risk. No reward.
- The DZ doesn’t feel like a dangerous place in general.
- Matchmaking that informs you that some players is looking for group. That’s just annoying. It would be nice if you change it for a distress call system. When a player needs help (really needs help, like he’s in trouble, not just looking for a group to have fun) he sends a distress call that nearby agents can receive. They can answer the call and come to help. More about it here: https://www.reddit.com/r/thedivision...d_an_overhaul/
UI and QoF:
- Fonts are too small again. There is an option to increase fonts, but it only increases fonts for settings menu.
- UI adjustments is welcomed addition. Please add a possibility to adjust and scale the lower left log window.
- Please swap Mark as Favorite and Mark as Junk buttons back.
- Please remove the confirmation for unpacking the sealed cache. And make the opening process a bit faster.
Thank you for the photo mode. Here is some pictures that I’ve made:

…the fun parts
-Agreed; exploration and hidden loot is a major fun factor.
-Agreed; settlement upgrades are fun.
-Dunno; sounds like fun I guess. What’s a suit 3 key?
-Agreed; missions are very fun (4 man teams are a bit rough though).
-Agreed; AI seems solid (except for explosion spamming).
-Agreed; specializations are amazing.
-Agreed; skills are fun (some division tech needs work, mostly clutter and placement issues).
-Agreed; Itemization seems decent.
-Dunno; I have mixed feeling about the DZ.
-Dunno; but I hear good things about conflict maps.
…the not so parts
-Agreed; the original game seemed more alive (good observation btw).
-Agreed; DZ needs work (bring back filter ranks and the catacombs).
-Dunno; DZ rogue is for special snowflakes.
-Agreed; DZ hazard is missing the “six dollar flu” made it feel more real.
-Dunno; matchmaking worked for me (good idea though).
…user interface
-Dunno; small fonts are not something that stuck out for me.
-Dunno; can’t see how adjusting the log window is that important.
-Dunno; mark as fav/junk works ok for me.
-Dunno; confirmation can be a good thing, fast isn’t always better.
Great read btw; ty for sharing.
Locked DZ chest, yes, they are there. But other than that there's nothing. No basic loot chests, no ammo bags, no armor kits, no resources... nothing.Originally Posted by Migrayne1 Go to original post
On the first story mission when you enter the laundry room, you can find a dead body that you can interact with. It drops a key. Latter on a mission you can find a locked suit that can be opened with this key. There you can find some loot. Nothing special though, but very nice addition.Originally Posted by Skyward- Go to original post
Yeah, remember those guys who carry a wooden plank and talking about why they are doing this? Or the man and the lady that fight for the something? I miss those small details in TD2.Originally Posted by Skyward- Go to original post
Indeed! No contaminated areas. In The Division? How this even happened???Originally Posted by Skyward- Go to original post
