So, this problem is a little hard to describe....and it could very well be due to my eyesight or being spoiled by having Pulse in Div1.
Both my wife and I played the demo....and one thing we had a hard time was seeing enemies...or more specifically distinguishing them from the surrounding objects/textures. Its almost like they blend a little too much.. I am not talking about them being hidden or behind cover...that I understand. From a technical pov...either the textures used for some of the NPC models are too similar to surround environment features....or something is off with LoDs.
Again, this could be on my end...either my eyesight or computer hardware...but since my wife had the same issue...at the same times I did....I tend to think its with the game.
I don't have this problem in Div1.
I understand that. But what I encountered was different.....In one spot I literally was standing within eyesight of a enemy NPC...but could not make it out ....was sorta a Predator moment =POriginally Posted by Cmdo.Delta Go to original post
And to be clear....I am not saying they were invisible. Once I realized they were there ...I could see them...just barely....they just blend to well into whatever is surrounding them.
I encountered what I THINK you are saying only the opposite direction. Sometimes I would get almost a 'white-out'. I get there is an effect when leaving a room and going into the daylight. That is way over done BTW, but I have gotten it elsewhere too. I couldn't see anything really and things were out in the open. My computer is absolutely (wallet) bleeding edge so shouldn't be it.
So maybe it's a bug with texture and stuff? I didn't had that kind of issue. I just know that when enemies were hiding for awhile, even though i saw them, game wasn't marking them anymore. I'm pretty sure in Division 1 they remained marked or way longer. So when i was trying to keep track of multiple enemies at time but couldn't watch all around constantly, i was losing track of some of them and they kept moving so next time i spotted them, they were not at the same spot i saw them last. I really think the game is less generous on helping us spotting them. Now if on top of that there are glitches (highly possible you encountered a bug) then it can make things really hard when it comes to tracking enemies.
We also have to add to this that we didn't had drivers made specifically for the game so maybe it doesn't help. If it's a bug or driver issue then i hope they fix it for release
Out of curiosity, on TD2, were you holding looking at them until they got a little diamond under their marker? I found if I look at them, they only highlight for a little bit. But, if you hold looking right at them, then it puts a 'carrot' on them and they stay indefinitely.Originally Posted by Cmdo.Delta Go to original post
I hope they bring back the manual "Z key" marking that is rarely used, but extremely helpful in TD1. In my over 2k hours in the game, I have only found a couple people that use it regularly besides me. I enter a room, I start looking around to see what enemies are what, and I manually mark them as I go by hitting the Z key. Then, I know what type they are so know who to focus on first. When an enemy is behind cover, you can also keep hitting Z periodically and it will show you momentarily where they are. This is great for lining up that perfect sniper head shot when the raise up to look. If you haven't tried it, give it a shot. Try it before you use pulse. Note that it just marks them and doesn't give you the CHC like Pulse does, just makes it easier to keep track of everyone.
