I would completely agree with the OP on the weapon mods. The negative effects are just a little to high, I found myself not even bothering to put them on as they just made the weapons feel awful. I understand the need to create diversity so we don't just have best in slots again, but this may not be the correct way to do this.
simply -- NO you aren't going to get STORY in a beta!!This game releases in a month. It is not a beta...it is a release candidate. What are they going to do in ONE MONTH....write the whole story and add it to the game, voice acting content, new characters, the whole nine yards? In 30 days? Not a chance...not a remote chance...I agree with basically nothing here. Of course they didn't give you much story in a beta. Come on, man...
There is no story here. This is the beginning of the game. Levels 1-7 areas. There is no story here...not in the beta, and there won't be any in the final released game.
And that may well happen. I was given free access to try out this "beta" (release candidate #1), and as a fairly heavy TD1 player, I've been left soured by the UI, bummed there is no real storyline, and frustrated by the movement issues.OP: There is a global option called "If you dont like... dont buy the game"
I may get the game at some point, but probably not on release, and certainly not for $60. For now, I suspect I'll stick to TD2 and let everyone else beta test their $60, $99, $150 TD2 release-day game for UbiSoft.

Consider this.
The game is a new setting, you are not the same agent as was in NYC, the link too, and continued story from, NYC is going to be literally hidden from you. You have to go and find it, none of the players here know anything about what happened in New York, those that might do are going to keep it close to them.
Did you find the audio recordings? There were plenty, more hints.
Also this is absolutely an artificially restricted version of the game. Skills were locked, I'm sure story elements will have been too. No release like we've experienced has the finished game product...especially story content!
When I tried to change skills mid-mission the other day, it prevented me from changing anything while "in-combat." No swapping weapons, armor, or skills while combat was actively going on.Originally Posted by Xiamoi Go to original post
I'm not saying it didn't take him longer, I'm just surprised he was able to do it in a situation where he was going to get rolled over!
ehm.. did you ever think about that they removed parts of the story from the Beta so there are no spoilers in there?Originally Posted by jrista1979 Go to original post
Of course I think they story is already there but hidden in this beta.
AFAIK the starting point of this beta is adifferent one than we start off in the real game. (at least I think I heard something like this in a video).
Other than that I disagree with most of your comment.. while to be honest not reading all of it.
To the makers of the Division, my middle finger goes up to you all why you may ask me because I & other users feel you have done the same to us all for years & it isn't right at all. The Division 2 looks nice 100% but is the gameplay good well no and here is the list why from me and other users I played the beta with, 1 When using a medkit how dumb that you have made it when you use a medkit your paralysed on the spot for 4 seconds which gets you killed by NPC and rogue users! Why isn't it the same as the Division 1 way of using a medkit it makes common sense. 2 Turrets & Seeker Mines don't work well at all when it comes to fixed shooting telling you to hold LB or RB to lock on a target to kill the way now doesn't work it gets bogged down & doesn't it's better the old way automatic lock & kill plus aiming where to place a turret is made hard because all there is a white box under the turret with no aiming radius under the turret like in the division one which makes gameplay a thumbs down, make it the same layout like the division one. 3 It's the same problem when it comes to aiming & throwing bombs it doesn't show well if you are locked on a target like division one before you throw a bomb. 4 The NPC hitting you with a electric baton how dumb again because you can't move and use it medkit which it ends up killing you and it's the same with all the NPC & users when you are in covered combat or not you made the game a thumbs down. 4 The menu layout is made harder to navigate the thing is why do you have to make things so difficult you had everything right in division one menu layout all you needed to do was add new features. Have I wasted my money?
