Invisible while in a ghillie suit under a bush? | Forums

This evening in Caimanes, I was poking at some SB and missed a shot... so they were alerted and I was hunted. Normally, I’d move immediately, but this time I thought I would see how well I was hidden. I was wearing the green leaves ghilliie suit under some thick plants in some fairly dense jungle. Even I couldn’t really see myself when I invoked photo mode and looked at my position.

Three guys came looking and were literally walking over me... the cheating game engine was telling them where I was, but they just couldn’t see me. It was hilarious.

I’ll post a photo tomorrow.

Is this expected? Is it the bush, the ghillie, the combo or some glitch?

Ps. I’m loving playing in the dense jungle. It’s so cool being able to have that added stealth cover. With a gillie, Multicam black, and face paint, I often admire how concealed I look in photo mode and it makes playing hide and seek guerilla style warfare with the SB goons a lot more fun

Though I haven't tested it properly, my understanding is that the ghillie is purely cosmetic. My only personal experience with this was a while back when I was really struggling with the Predator and I was watching videos for helpful tips. One of them suggested you should put on white ghillies to help "pop out" more in the jungle so target acquisition is easier (the idea being that the predator will see you no matter what you wear so you might as well make it easier for you "the player" to tell friend from foe). Anyway, I had the all white getup on and as I was heading for the Predator mission I had a run-in with SB. I didn't notice any difference in detection at all. I stood out like a sore thumb in that dark/green jungle area, but it didn't feel like it made any difference to them.

Like I said, not a proper test, but it is what it is.

Yeah I hide in bushes wearing my everyday desert tan head to toe, in the jungle, no ghillie. They still don't see me. Ghillie is useless. Camo color doesn't matter, either.

I'm pretty sure the Suit doesn't work at all in this Game. Maybe they didn't spot you because of some kind of Lag or Bug.

Not lag or a bug. It's the bush. Doesn't matter what you're wearing. Go prone in any decent sized bush that mostly covers you, and you're "hidden". They actually do know exactly where you're at. They'll come right up to you, aiming guns at you, trip over you, but still won't shoot as long as you don't move. Just sync shot them.

If it was a bug or glitch it wouldn't be so consistent. It literally works 100% for me. It was clearly intended for you to be able to hide in bushes.

Ok but did you try it with a wife beater and shorts just for ****s and giggles? I am sure that you would be able to hide as well as you do now with a ghillie suit that is more my point. I don't like how they funnel in to where you are and if you do engage, they just shrug off your bullets and overwhelm your position with numbers but yes, I have been able to hide in a bush and while they walk all over me they seem not to see me... I consider that more of a bug/glitch than intentional because if it is, then by God the Devs are not as intelligent as I give them credit.

I don't wear a ghillie. Ever. I was basically saying the same thing you were then. Point was I was wearing all tan camo, which should stick out in a dark green jungle, but they still don't shoot.

Yes I think it is buggy the way the enemy NPCs act. They shouldn't act like they see you if they won't shoot.
