    Unplayable!

Where's the snow??? I'm cancelling my pre-order right now! (I liked the snowy setting a lot!)

Seriously, game ran smoothly for me until about 9:00 pm EST (UTC-5).

I was getting 90 to 120 fps on my laptop monitor at 1080p during lunch time at work and over 60 fps when hooked to my 1440p monitor at home. (Laptop is a MSI GT75 with a 7820HQ, GTX 1080, 16 Gb RAM, and the game is installed on a 1Tb SSD.)

Then lag set in, dropping fps to 10-20. (So yeah, literally unplayable...)

I've read a lot of posts about disconnects (which happened to me too, about 5 times in 3 hours, but this is a Beta, not an Early Access), but not very many about lag.

On the one hand, I doubt lag is caused by my setup because it did run very smoothly earlier, but on the other hand, the lack of complaints on that topic has me a bit worried.

I feel definitely ahce the same issue...lag out of nowhere this evening. probably due to the load on server from people playing the evening.

I played some this morning with no issues and then around 2-3 hours ago it started lagging all to heck and started disconnecting us. I was getting a solid 120 fps this morning, then when it started lagging it slowly dropped to 100 fps, then 80 fps, then 60 fps, then 45 fps, then 15 fps. So I restarted the game and that solved the FPS issue (which tells me there is a memory leak somewhere in there) but then it started disconnecting every 15-45 minutes. Finally just gave up and called it quites.

there is a tweet from the devs, you need to restart the game every 2 to 3 hrs, you will get a bit laggy... its a known bug on ths private beta copy

That's good news! (Well, sort of... Good for me, bad for the devs, but better now than at launch.)

    Thanks a lot!

Baronstone is a perceptive individual. He's right about the memory leak. What's strange about memory leaks is that snowdrop has a memory scavenger that automatically releases memory that hasn't been accessed for a while. The game engine does not allow memory leaks to get out of hand. Somehow, probably on purpose, Ubi has disabled the memory scav in snowdrop.

Here's Baronstone's post, so you don't have to scroll around for it:
