What, if anything, triggers the Karambit? | Forums

I made the suggestion that all CQC make use of the Karambit at all times, but that got me wondering, is there something in particular that causes the game to decide "this kill should be with a Karambit" or "this kill will be without a Karambit?"

I feel like I get far more Karambit kills with a ghillie on, but since the game doesn't recognize choice of clothing as anything but cosmetic, I doubt there's a connection. Still though, I was wearing my ghillie and all CQC used the Karambit, then I changed outfits and the first CQC kill, and every one after that, was with no Karambit.

Is it simply random?

Wearing the Echelon Gloves makes all your melee attacks use the Karambit.

Similarly, wearing Caviera’s gloves replaces the standard takedown with the interrogation one.

That makes sense now. I was trying to insert the quarters in the slot between the BACKSLASH and ENTER keys, but it wouldn't accept them. I though it was because of advanced currency recognition software identifying the fact that I was actually attempting to insert slugs, and not quarters.

That would make sense since I use the Echelon gloves with my ghillie setup. So I'll only use Echelon gloves on everything from now on. Thanks.
