    BULLET SPONGE ENEMiES ?

This may well have been discussed? Not sure...

So how do people feel about Ubisoft introducing levelled enemies (bullet sponges) to EVERY single game they have?

    I’m quite cynical about it.

Feels like Ubisoft want to monetise EVERY game they have! Who cares whether it fits the game eh? Let’s find a way to make micro transactions more viable in even singleplayer games...

Let’s hope they leave Splinter Cell alone!

Not every game has to play like the Division or Borderlands.

After how easy FC5 was im all for making FAR CRY more challenging. But I’m thinking more like FC2 or FC Primal SURVIVOR MODE.
Personally I find bullet sponge enemies a superficial and largely lazy way to scale difficulty.

Also it works better in games with monsters or Aliens as you can rationalise them being tough to kill. But when you take aim at a human enemy and shoot them in the head and they don’t die and you shoot them 10-20 more times in the head and they still don’t die all that does is it breaks immersion...

Everything that makes Far Cry more profitable will be used. This is inevitable! Life dictates this law. Developers are not guilty. Only more than 200% profit makes the game profitable. Not even 150%. If Mickey Mouse in the game will make more money for the game Far Cry will be full of Mickey Mouses, don't be afraid. And don't blame Ubisoft! Don't call them greedy or that they thinking only about money....They have to think about money first of all. This is Life.

The more I think about it - the more leftist I become. One Marx's phrase is coming to my mind - "There is no crime that capital wouldn't commit for 300% profit." I want to add -....even to spoil Far Cry!"

Immersion hasn't been a focus in FC since 2, but yeah, I hate the tiered weapons & enemies and I hate the removal of weapon customization and I won't be picking this iteration up. All I can do now is hope that ND is a one off experiment and that the series will abandon these "features" in future iterations. I really hope FC6 is a return to form...

It just makes no sense to introduce levelled enemies in a first person shooter!

I think FARCRY series needs a serious reboot and rethink.......

Just played a release version of the game for the several hours, and i had to say that those leveled enemies are really breaking immersion of the game. Pepper stash bear with 3 marks got like 40-50 shots from sniper rifle, level 2 wolverine took like 30 shots from pistol, level 1 bandits cane take 2 shots from sniper rifle to the head, level 2 bandints took like 10 shots from sniper rifle to down... I mean, come on, what kind of "game" is this? IMO this has nothing to do with game difficulty. I guess that something had to be done since FC5 to ramp up difficulty somewhat. Why just not disable auto self heal, or really exploit reinforcement mechanic, so longer fight you take and more enemies you down they send increasing number of reinforcements ending up with heavily armed groups what are just imposible to defeat in straight combat and near impossible to get away alive? Game already has this mechanic built in from the start, so why not use that instead of immersion breaking bullet sponges? I really hope this will be fixed, since tbh, this leveled scheme makes game a joke...

It’s like they’re sabotaging all their games for the sake of corporate greed.

It’s so obvious that it’s an attempt to monetise the singleplayer experience by creating a superficial grind.

I mean seriously — what else can you call this new obsession with implementing these pointless RPG mechanics in ALL their games.....?

They need to be careful because if you push customers too far, there’s historically been a fallout to this kind of behaviour.

It's nothing more than writer's block.. And a long block it's been. I wouldn't mind so much if there was a gradual wounding, armour flying off but not spray for 2 minutes and only alive and dead with nothing in-between.

    Farcry
    Odyssey
    Division

I already know what Watch Dogs 3 will be like..

The King is dead (EA) long live the new king..
