2 week old noob player - Unfair Matchmaking

    Hello,

Ive started to play For Honor only a couple of weeks ago. At first I was having a blast, playing many hours daily. However, recently Ive been matching against opponents ridiculously more experienced than myself in many game modes. My rep is around 5 now, and in the past week Ive been matched against ppl with over 200 rep over and over again, so Im no longer having fun. What used to be a 4 hour routine now is a couple of games routine. Everytime I get into a match I get absolutely humilliated. Ive read about the matchmaking changes, but Im wondering how is it possible, with any system, to pair a 2 week noob against 200+ rep players? Im no longer playing the game, but I really want to, wish this changes soon.

    Thanks.

Most players are experienced at this point, just the reality of fighting game communities. Grow tougher skin or bow out gracefully

Hard to learn if everytime I play I get obliterated in seconds.

Ive been practicing a lot with bots in trainning mode but, still, im getting hammered. Every now and then, when I get into a match with players around my skill and rep, thats when I improve. By the way, my point is that I was having a blast in my first week, being matched against players of my skill and rep everytime. Now its very rare for me to get a fair matchmaking. A couple of friends of mine who also started playing recently (although they started 1 month before I did) have been complaining about this new matchmaking as well.

Its not new yet. Its been reset to better gage peoples skills so think of it like a bell or fisher curve where you are at the bottom; even past the standard deviation. Of course you are going to get rekt by this. Once it gathers enough information THEN the new matchmaking will start to take affect. From what I gather you are essentially fighting ransoms right now but I could be wrong.

Thats a big problem now a days, even if you are more or less experienced and buy a new character, you need some time to practice. But the MM throw you to fight with kids that spent their life playing, so its ridicuolus. At last, you continue using only the characters you domine, and dont waste time and money in other that you can only use in the training arena.

Dont forget that you can see enemies´ reps before, so you can choose to stay or to quit (you have 30 seconds after the match begins to quit without the annoying 15 min ban).

You will likely lose against players if they are so tremendously more experienced, but I think it is actually easier to learn against them. They likely know most good mixups with their character, but this also makes them more predictable and less flexible. If you learn to read their patterns, you will have more success, even if you lose. I know it's not a pleasent start, but I think that's the best you can do. You might also want to speak to some of the enemies, and if you find a nice one, you can ask some help from him/her. I learned most of my things against better players who kept giving me rematches and I started to understand how their mixups work. If you learn to read that, the only thing that must be learned is the timing of counters, then only reads remain.

    I think this...
OP welcome to the game. Frustrating at times but still truly unique and awesome.

2 weeks isn't an insane amount of time playing, so at this stage you're going to have trouble against better players. I think it's helpful to be matched with better players, because that can make you better. And, provided you can keep your cool, you can learn and adapt to different play styles.

Watch some gameplay of your hero on youtube, and don't be worried about losing. Don't be discouraged, because this new system takes time to adjust the player pool around. Just have fun and do the best you can.
