    The economy of the game.

Hi. Thanks for a great game. Have been many fun hours of gaming.
But it could have been so many more but the economy in the game holds me back. Played the story as a warrior, great fun, but now i need to change class to keep the fun going.

The cost to make the hunter gear up to date is a gamebreaker. Would take me so much time to get the mats for it that i choose to quit the game instead. So No expansion for me.

Not sure if this is your goodbye and you won't be around to read any replies but I'll at least give it a shot.

    First - A few questions:
    1. What Level are you currently?
    2. What Level is your Spear?
    3. Did you fully upgrade the Adrestia?
    4. Did you dismantle or sell unused/unwanted gear?
    5. Are you using Legendary Sets( & desire to use in the case of respec'ing for Hunter)? - If so what Set/Level is it?
    6. Have you considered Epics?

I'm just trying to get an idea where you're at in Character progression, items you're looking to upgrade and your current to end-game goals. I could throw out random advice that may be meaningless to you - I wish to avoid wasting my time as well as yours as much as possible.
If you let us(The Community) know just a bit more info - there's so many folks here who can point you in the right direction.

..heck if I could I'd throw you a mil Drach and 50k Iron, Wood & Skins.

If you wish to give it a shot... we're all here for ya.
Either way: Best of luck to you.
    Peace.

This is of no real 'help' to you, but it's only to say that it's absolutely achievable to have enough to get through this game.

I'm at level 58 and swimming in $$ & resources becuz I Loot and hoard like a Kleptomaniac the first 1/2 of any games I play.
I've been upgrading 3 Legendary weapons since at least Level 40 and it was crippling my resources & I had to let one of my weapon upgradings go. (Daggers).

Then I started really going into Ship battles and earned tons of $$ that way. Merc Bounties off boards are another good way.

This is balanced but if you're regularly upgrading (and don't have the Merc Tier discounts), it will be tight or impossible to keep it all going.
(After a patch, I stopped getting the Warrior perks I needed from weapons/gear, so I had to upgrade most all of them every level).

Hope you stick with it, it's worth it imo.

3400 metal, 6400 leather and 2400 wood is not really that much in this game. You know you can buy ressources at the blacksmith, right? So visit a couple of blacksmiths and you should have your ressources pretty fast (if you got the money, of course).

I am at the highest merc Tier. And i still need all that mats for upgrade.

When i play i want to be Kassandra the Misthios. Not so much Kassandra the miner, the hunter original the woodsmen.

It feels kind of broken when you have to invest so much time to upgrade stuff. With full discount.

    Thanks again for your answer.

The economy of the game was improved with version 1.0.3 of the game, and it was a huge improvement: it reduced the required materials by about half, and it increased the looting of materials by about double. Since 1.0.3 was released it takes about 1/4 the time and effort to upgrade the Adrestia, weapons, and armour than it did under the earlier versions.

I understand that you’re frustrated, but being that such a huge adjustment has already been made to the economy, I wouldn’t expect another one.

It was truly awful in the beginning, but I was able to fully upgrade the Adrestia. I used whatever armour and weapons dropped until the ship was fully upgraded, and then I focused on my weapons and armour. It wasn’t until 1.0.3 that I was able to upgrade all of my weapons and armour.

I have not that much experience with the game yet - 60+ hours in and not even level 30 (due to the way in which I play that is). But I found that it is a lot easier to maintain my gear since we have heavy scaling available - so that i get loot appropriate for my level, which means either I can use it right away or it provides me with more materials if I dismantle it or more money if I sell it. This is just a suggestion I want to make, to eventually try heavy scaling option.

The fastest way I've found to gather iron and obsidian shards w/o buying from a blacksmith is by looting resource crates and nation chests (shards) in forts. They give leather and wood too. There's a lot of lynx in northern Hydrea to farm leather, and ship battles are a great way to get wood. I visit message boards to pick up high reward contracts, so clearing forts and doing ship battles make it seem less like farming and more like playing imo. That also fits your Kassandra the Misthios rp style

When you're working to level upto level 70, decide on 1 set of gear to play all the way through & park the rest. If you try to upgrade all your gear at each level, you will run out of resources. When I was at level 50 I had about 80,000 leather & metal 90,000+ wood! But before I even reached level 70 I was almost at zero on metal & leather more than once! A few tips if you're interested. It costs less in resource if you upgrade a piece of gear from level 50 to 70 in 1 go than upgrading the same piece of gear at each level up! Also epic gear costs less to upgrade than legendary. So if you can put together a decent set of epic gear, use it for these 20 levels! Then when you reach level 70 just work on looting gear & resource to gradually upgrade all your weapons & gear a set at a time, it will happen quicker than you think. There are animals everywhere, use multishot to take out half a dozen at a time, if I see a bear, I never pass it, 1 shot predator shot through the head. If I'm in a fort I loot crates before destroying them, weapon racks are all over the place. If I walk past any of these I automatically loot them. When you're in a walled city, climb the wall & run the length of it, most of the stone lookout towers have weapon racks, loot them. Use Ikaros to scan forts, leaders houses etc, any enemy with a yellow shield above their head has a weapon or armour to loot, kill them. The bounty board with quests for kill Athenian or spartan soldiers, bandits or daughters of artemis, all of those camps usually have a chest, a weapons rack, a leader with gear & in the case of soldiers, there is also a resource crate to loot. Theres a cash cap of 9,999,999 drachmae! The first time I hit that cap, I spent between 5-6 million drachmae at the blacksmiths, buying resource & gear, then dismantling it all. BTW you get 2 goes at every blacksmith! I you interact with him, select buy, then clean him out, then select sell, upgrade or engrave, then select buy again, it still shows he has nothing to sell as you just bought all his gear. But, exit blacksmith, walk away a few yards, go back to him & interact & hey presto! he's got a fresh load of stuff to buy. I hope this helped & that I haven't bored you with stuff you already knew, but all my legendary gear & weapons are level 70, & I now have over 800,000 leather & metal, over 900,000 wood, not that I should need it, but just in case eh?
