Simple soulution: Reduce the tracking and range of Deamons-Embrace and give him a bit more range in generall. For right now Deamons-E ist just too strong and he needs the range for easier openers.

Yeah I would also reduce the tracking of his Demon's Embrace. And tbh, I would revert it completely to like it was before his rework.
Personally I would revert the whole character to pre rework and then I would adjust the features he has.

    My ideas (for pre-rework Shugoki):

    1. instead of heavies being soft-feintable into DE, he should get one or two other attacks / moves (like a kick or a slap as an opener). DE after a throw should be a thing and only guarenteed when wallsplat.
-DE deals 30 dmg and heals 30 hp
-it does not regenrate stamina only when Shugoki is critically wounded
-when critically wounded DE deals 60 dmg and regenerates 60 hp
-a missed DE (for whatever reasons) deals 30 dmg to Shugoki but no gb vulnerability and recovery is 0 ms (since he already will get demaged).

    2. His headbutt should be guarenteed when the hit was successful and dodgeable when the hit was blocked or whiffed. He should be able to initiate a headbutt after every attack in the chain (only one headbutt in a chain).
-guarenteed headbutt (like pre-rework state) can pull the opponent out of his animation and deals 40 stamina dmg. It functions as chain finisher and can't be chained into another attack.
-non-guarenteed headbutt deals 80 stamina dmg and 10 dmg. Functions as a chain starter and can be chained into a light or a heavy.

    3. Hyper armour should be reverted to pre-rework as well (Shugoki armour)
-does not regenerate passively and if down, Shugoki does not get more damage.
-his armour regenerates after a successful headbutt or DE.
-when the armour is up, Shugoki gets a damage reduction of 10%.
-only bashes and attacks can remove his armour.
-when armour is down, all of his attacks deal 25% more dmg (except DE)
-if the armour is down, there's a 2 sec cooldown until it can be regenerated again (to prevent a trading light with successful headbutt to regenerate the armour instantly).

    4. Parry punish: Demon Ball and Slap
-by initiating a side heavy after a parry, Shugoki does the Demon Ball move (the attack which he has currently when initiating a heavy after a gb). It deals 25 dmg and can be directionally controlled in a 180° angle. It can wallsplat which deals extra stamina dmg and physical dmg. Therefor Shugoki gets a heavy after a gb and a top heavy after a light parry.
-by initiating a gb after a parry, Shugoki does a slap from left or right. The attack wallsplats and guarentees a heavy. Non-wallsplat guarentees a light. The move itself deals 40 stamina dmg.

    4. Soft-feint: Kick
-can be initiated by pressing the gb button when charging a heavy.
-guarentees a headbutt or a heavy.
    -unbalances opponent when oos.

    5. Oni charge from sprinting and from forward dash
-the sprinting oni charge did not change and can keep the current state.
-the forward dash Oni charge is my idea. It can be initiated by dashing forward with Shugoki and pressing the gb button. It should not be unfairly fast but if successful, it unbalances the opponent. It should be fast enough to catch rolling opponents.
    -can be hard-feinted

More proof that his Demon's embrace recovery time is broken and needs to be changed. Several characters can easily punish him with high damage damage by just dodging without even having/using dodge attacks.

    Awful.

Ever since the update to the shugoki, I've had more problems than ever with his ability to spam his Back break, headbut and other unblockable and uninteruptable attacks.

Even as a berserker, shaman, tiandi, etc... with extended dodges, the shugoki's back break tracks me without a problem.

Moreover, the increase to his attack speed made him extremely easy to use in any situation, without a hard counter character. In my opinion, an "Easy" rated character should not be able to spam against a "Hard" character with such ease.

Shugoki lacks what everyone else has. A counter. His hyper armor, faster attacks, stunning combos, ability to heal via back break and immense amount of health make him way too difficult in 1v1 situations and impossible to defeat when you're the victim of double, triple and quad teaming.

I myself like the old Shugoki and would rather to have him back. The new one to play as is somewhat unplayable. He had more health, more damage, and was faster before the rework. For a big character, he now has hardly more health than Warden.

Shugoki's health was much needed as he is mostly targeted for being big and slow. But now he falls victim to light spammers like Raider, Orochi, Valkyrie, Nuxia, and possibly Conqueror. He use to be able to trade hits and keep thing situated with his headbutt. His headbutt now is almost useless unless it's used by people who want to Demon's Embrace.

I liked the old Demon's Embrace better. It gave Shugoki a reason to wall splat and was a good resort to getting health/kills in a gank. It was satisfying to hear his roar but it's not as good since it doesn't echo through the map. I get the old one was spammed by meme-ers, but it was slow and most time would only work on wall splats.

I am a Shugoki main and I don't even support Samurai. That's how much I liked the character. But now, I hate fighting a Shugoki. It's most charge a heavy into Demon's Embrace or just throw charged heavies since it's his only way of decent damage. And I don't know about you, but I hate fighting heros who can heal in the middle of a fight. Like spamming Demon's Embrace.

Please, Ubi. Can we get the old Shugoki back?

Shugoki never got much love but he most certainly won't now. The Shugoki Warriors in story mode remain the same. Maybe even better. I'm jealous of them. The normal warriors had 10 bars of health, Kizan had 11 bars of health, and Teramori (my favorite unobtainable look for Shugoki) had 12 bars of health. They have the old mechanics which is mostly what I'm referring to. This appeals to the "Heavy, Hard-Hitter, Disabler" category he falls under. But they are secretly nerfing heavy characters. I've noticed Tough as Nails and Bulk up just doesn't stack anymore. Max health is 7 bars. And Shugoki is more useless now. His Never Stumble feat don't even help him against the new hero. I get leg sweeps knock him over but with never stumble, he use to get up extra quick to recover from being knocked down. I can't tell you how bad I wish I could play Teramori for his health AND appearance. For those unfamiliar with Kizan and Teramori, Kizan is the yellow Shugoki warrior from the samurai story who wanted to be emporer, while Teramori was the commander of the monastery from the Viking's story. I had to edit this, I actually see Teramori has 11. I think Kizan had 12.

Are you really complaining about a level 2 feat not shutting down the kit of an entire character?

I am pretty sure you can put together everyone in the campaign, safe for Gudmundr, Tozen and Apollyon.
