I was only able to actually play the game for a total of 6 hrs due to Delta Errors and life.
My impressions of the game on xbox one x
1. Beta = Delta Errors non issue when the game is released I would hope.
2. That connecting screen with the Circle I hope was only Beta and not going to be part of release.
3. The aiming of weapons and overall maneuverability seemed very slow, I made what adjustments I could but just seemed off.
4. You have a boat load of NPCs in Washington and throughout the city, that add nothing to the game. Give them a job, some kind of interaction capability would be nice.
5. I like comparison when looting, it was wrong a few times when it came to armor that is a bug
6. Shadows and lighting going into tunnels is terrible, I couldn't see that there were locks to shoot on gates until I turned just right.
7. The UI as far as inventory, weapons, abilities, skills. In my opinion was working well in The Division should have left it the same in Division 2. Now it seems counter intuitive.
8. This isn't the matrix when a grenade is thrown I don't need to see it coming at me in slow motion, the highlight around it is nice but it doesn't need to be in slow motion. That is what it seemed like anyway. Same thing with the machine gun, I toss it and it would fly through the air in slow motion before finally landing and mowing down the enemy.
Overall I enjoyed the game play and think that most of the issues will be able to be worked out before the launch in March. I look forward to seeing the final polished product, There is so much that can be done with this game with expansions. It could and should be around for years to come,
I liked the game, can't wait for the 12th of march. I played solo. Story, Hard mode missions, Skirmish, DZ, and found time-to-kill just right.
I am using RTX 2070 on ultra settings, I have not encountered any bugs or fps drops people complained about after the 1st maintanance that completely fixed deltas for me, but there were annoying things I'd like to be changed:
1) When openning caches by holding F, you get prompted if you are sure you want to open it. That's totally unneccessary.
2) Muting someone in a group and overall getting to group UI and interracting with it so too clunky and takes too long time. I want to mute a person with 1 click in Skirmish, not with 5 actions.
3) Moding a weapon requires you to press Space and Double Click in different parts, very counter-intuitive.
4) Shooting through corners glitch with only a pixel of your body exposed is still in Division 2. It poisoned Division 1 for me (as I like sniper builds and most sniper duels were like that), and now it's starting to poison Division 2. Please, adress it asap.
5) This one isn't really gameplay related per say. But I bought Ultimate Edition for Stash Space. I understand pay-to-win is really bad (which it wouldn't be, it's not gear just quality-of-life feature) but now you can buy the same stash space after 2 minutes in the game with shade tech and everyone gets the same stash size at lvl 30, and there's no need to do that anyway until you're lvl 30 where grinding begins. So, I payed additional 20 EU for nothing. I mean com'on? I WILL NOT cancel pre-order, don't get me wrong. I put 2080 hours into Division 1, with all its ups and downs, I wanna you to continue support Division 2 the same way. It's just my sincere hope that you won't do such things in the future, false advertising that is. And I will not pre-order anything anymore (sadly, because of things like this).
A Good Game So Far
This is the beta Phase so some problems are to be expected. I'm sure things like the lag and connecting to friends through the social menu will be fixed before the release date. The gameplay was relatively smooth and combat system had me thirsting for more. The intense firefights and new and upgraded weapons and equipment keep things very interesting, and keep me wondering what else is in store for us. I believe we have another great game heading our way soon and I can't wait until it's release. With that being said, there a few things that I feel could be tweaked to make gameplay smoother or more efficient.
ITEMS
* when playing co-op and opening items, they disappear if your teammate does not get to them fast enough (especially weapon boxes)
* If I completed a mission already and then jump in my friend's game to help him complete that same mission, some items and weapon boxes are not available to my friend who has not played that particular mission yet. Essentially they miss out, hopefully that could get fixed.
ABILITIES
* The Repair drone seems only to work on targeting allies with line of sight, when in heavy combat with limited cover, this makes the ability to help a teammate nearly impossible. I believe having the ability to target them through any object but within a limited range would help to balance this effect.
* The air burst seeker targeting could use a few tweaks as well. While in combat the targeting of the seeker mine seems to be more difficult than necessary and sometimes it does not even activate as I would still see my mine moving along with me after the skirmish is over. It does not seem to target well on certain surfaces or areas.
* The line of sight for the sentry gun I believe works quite well, maybe a little too well where as I see many things getting in the way of the sentry while it is firing. maybe allowing it to be placed easier on multiple surfaces would help.
WEAPONS
*the recoils on some pistols seem to be greater than some assault rifles, balancing this out could help out in more efficient firefights. I'm not sure that this is or will be available but maybe having perks that will assist in controlling the recoil just a little would be a good balance.
* Some shotguns seem to do the same damage close as it does at further distances as there should be a disparity between the two.
* It may be a good idea to decrease the amount of ammo we could hold or we would get during missions or combat and increase, a small bit, the special ammo we receive. It could force us to use different variations of teamwork to get through some of these firefights.
DARKZONE
*Items in the dark zone don't seem to be able to be shared like it is in co-op with weapon drops or boxes when two people on the same team is able to pick up an item. I'm not sure if this is deliberate but I think this takes away the lure of the dark zone. with less to loot there are less incentives to squad up to enter the dark zone.
* It seems like going rogue is a little different than what I have been used to, I feel more time is needed to get a good feel and understanding on how the dark zone has been improved on.
Overall again, it so far has been a great experience and game. I look forward to the release date, thank you for allowing me this awesome experience.
