My previous system was a 2011 1090t Phenom II build with a GTX 570 and then 770, and that CPU never bottlenecked anything either.

Should the OP be considering an upgrade for their system any time soon I'd obviously recommend leaving most of it alone and just upgrading to a better GPU if they want to use ultra textures at 1080p and stay above 60 frames. XD
My point is your 2070 is pretty much 1070 Ti level, a good 50% more powerful than his at 1080p, and that result was from using GRW as part of the bench content. https://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/...Gaming/30.html

Most players have to deal with budget limitations, he just needs appropriate settings for his. I'm not surprised you can get by fine on max settings because a 1070 Ti is pretty close to the 1080 I'm using on max settings as well.

Ryzens can fluctuate more than just via the chip quality though. They can be finicky as hell with certain hardware configs, and it helps to keep as much RAM free as possible. I was hoping Ryzen would compete well with Intel, and in some ways it does, but I don't stream and I didn't want to take any chances being one of the unfortunate ones.

Best comparison for a 2070 is really a 1080 Ti, it's a little worse in most ways but a little better in some.

As for Ryzen, well, nothing raised red flags for me when I was researching new components a couple of months ago. Maybe whatever's wrong is from the earlier gen Ryzens? I didn't really look into those. I've never had a problem with AMD CPUs myself, though I have seen people naturally suspicious of them in a "too good to be true" type way because of their extremely competitive pricepoints.
