    FPS still really bad.

Ive been playing wildlands again recently, and realised the FPS is still pretty awful, i run with textures on ultra, most other settings on high or low, but can only seem to push 60 fps "no vsync" this average, when things explode it drops. I dont understand why.

    my specs : Ryzen 5 2600, gtx 1060 6gb, 16GB dd4 3000mhz RAM, win 10 64bit.

Until you detail exactly which settings are on Ultra, and which are on High and Low, and what other settings like AA, Vsync, etc are on, we have no way of knowing. My guess is some settings are too high, especially with a Ryzen, which are known for having issues with frame drops in some games.

Shadow Quality and View Distance on anything but very high spec are some settings with lots of FPS impact in case you didn't know.

Well, I'm suspecting it's the ultra textures that are suppressing the OP's frames since the jump from high to ultra textures uses more system resources than basically every other maxed out setting combined, which is why I asked them about their resolution to determine if they really needed the ultra textures.

Yeah it could indeed be Ultra textures of course, but I was exampling the resource hungry settings that aren't as obvious to some. Also, the in game bench isn't a great way to choose settings, mostly because there's no AI or action, other than a few objects exploding one at a time. Ubi's AC Origins is another prime example of a near useless in game bench, because it's set in the small village of SIWA, and is a mere fly through. Alexandria, especially with a big battle going on, can easily be 10 -15 FPS lower than the bench. My guess is he has to be playing on no more than 1080p if he's using Ultra textures and getting 60 FPS except for drops.

"A big battle going on in Alexandria", OMG, be still, my heart. I'm getting more and more excited about playing some of these new AC games. I fell behind a few years ago with Black Flag and only recently started catching up. Can't wait to see Ubi's rendition of the greatest city of the ancient Mediterranean world. ))))

Posting what resolution is important bud.

At those specs I wouldn’t play any higher than 1080p. If you are consider a stronger GPU and at least 32 GB of RAM To play at ultra settings

Rendering all those textures around you at ultra settings could be harsh on your GPU and taking a lot of resources in your ram.

Well, VRAM is actually optimised specifically to handle textures, so it's always better to rely on a graphics card for that if possible, and I would have thought 6 GB of VRAM would have been enough even in GRW, but I guess it isn't, at least not at whatever res the OP is playing at. ((((

6GB of the ram definitely isn’t enough especially for an open world game running high textures. Having low ram also impacts your frame rates I witness this first hand a few years ago playing Forza horizon 2. I upgraded my RAM and presto! but yes I am with you on that one because I am wondering what resolution he’s playing at as well.

Sorry for the delay in replying here, my resolution is 1080p, im not interested in anything above that nor could my monitor handle it. my only setting at ultra is textures.
