i'm starting to doubt if the other three heroes will be as special as Vortiger

He looks pretty balanced tbh. His counter also needs a timing with a light, and the fullguard is not a superior block, it just blocks automatically, but nothing more. For example, if a shugoki charges a heavy, the black prior must make a read. If he tries to counter it, but it is feinted into demon's embrace, it will hit. Same goes for conq and valk shieldcrush, kensei pommel strike, or different levels of warden shoulderbash. If you make incorrect reads, this stance won't save you.

The one thing that looks a bit OP to me is his OOS pressure. All he has to do to keep someone OOS and kill them is light -> bash -> light repeat. If the OOS opponent blocks the light, the bash is confirmed and it keeps them from gaining their stamina back. This forces the enemy to parry the moves thrown at him. If you've ever been OOS, you know how risky it is to attempt a parry. If you attempt a parry and in turn get parried (after BP feints a heavy or so), you're getting hit with 70 damage. Tiandi had a similar issue and it got patched before release. He could keep opponents OOS with his palm strike.

Overall he looks pretty balanced, but his current OOS pressure is not okay.

Interested in seeing how his Bulwark stance works in actual PVP. Luckily I managed to get 15k steel in a fairly short time. I have a feeling I'm not getting the crates or steel from watching the live stream..

haha! I had a feeling that he might be able to counter drop attacks. Hilarious. I bet this would be a typical oversight of ubisoft again.

BP looks awesome but to be real: 100% damage reduction/immunity while pancake flipping (which includes the damage from everything feats, drop attacks that were not flipped and any other kind of damage sources) along with all that stuff he can flip including attacks that are not even aimed at him (so he shuts down any anti-gank attempt quickly) is way over board to my taste.

I curious how this all will shape the fighting meta in 4v4s.

Yep, the OOS game resembles tiandi's initial OOS quite a bit. This (oversight *wink*) has to be fixed asap and probably will be - after a couple of weeks. But first Ubisoft wants to make some money with scrubs forcing to buy a year 3 pass :P

    I agree with you sir

    Timing is never easy

no one can be fully focused all the time

Vortiger is balanced , i can feel it .

Okay I'm pretty sure no one got my intended message, if I were saying that he needed nerfing in locked combat than yeah I would deserve the git gud comments but that's not what I'm saying. I said the LAST moments of the video in which I referred to exclusively the ledge drop attacks and the catapult, it means that if I try to ledge drop this dude (something that is out of lock combat) he will counter it and pop revenge and then I have to fight him in revenge same thing with the catapult. Because overall I too want to actually fight him before saying something like his overpowered in LOCKED combat and hopefully I won't need to say he's overpowered but I don't have my hopes up since he's got conqueror's shield bash light but I still want to fight him before giving my final verdict. But telling me that countering ledge drops is both intended and balanced then we might as well get rid of ledge drop because he is the one character that is invulnerable to it.

Do you think they'll give Valkyrie her old Shield Tackle back now that Vortiger is around?

The catapult part is not right, nor the feat part, but ledge drops can be countered by a simple dodge or roll, and the fall usually kills the would-be assassin. This will be weaker, and it needs a perfect timing to save the bp, while the attacker will survive.

imo only 3 nerfs need to happen:

~You get damage reduction when doing BWC instead of damage immunity.
~Dodge bash and bash after an attack need to have slightly longer recoveries to allow for a properly timed GB to land more often and for dodge attacks to actually be punishes.
~Remove the ability to get a guaranteed bash if his opponent blocks a light while BP has revenge or his opponent is OOS.

I think for potential buffs there are two easy picks:

~Heavy soft feint into bash has no purpose. It does have strong range. But it's his only ranged threat so it's not note worthy. And due to it's speed you can easily dodge on unblockable indicator and get a GB.
~forward dash heavy should get some more range or tracking so he has some chase down versus people who space and unlock roll on reaction.
