Necessary Changes
Hey there everyone,
After many hours solo and with friends, I have been seeing the same issues my friends and I all felt from day 1 becoming more and more prominent as the game increases its roster. Here are a few of the MOST important ones I believe will go a million miles to have the game be far less frustrating and chance oriented. I'm sure all honest players will agree.
A: It seems foolish that there are "Guaranteed" Guardbreaks within the game, As you dodge left during an attack you believe wont be feinted or will be feinted, if a guard break is performed after the feint in this scenario you are unable to CGB (Counter Guard Break)
Why?
If two players at the same time perform these actions which is by chance, the one going for guard break gets a guaranteed reward for nothing but luck. There are multiple exploits you can GB and it is guaranteed. This is nothing but a dice roll and causes insane frustration for every single honest player.
What would be better is allowing CGB to occur ANYTIME, no guaranteed breaks, and reducing the CGB Window so not only is the games skill roof increased, it removes players feeling unlucky as they lost the dice roll.
B: Allowing players to pick duplicates of heroes is incredibly ridiculous. Running 4 centurions creates a complete death ball you cannot beat if coordinated as if a player is knocked down in any way. E.G: From cents unlockable knockdown or depleted stamina throw or revenge attack, ALL 4 centurions can at the same time use the leaping stab, they simply clip through each other dealing 4 leaps of damage at the exact same time instantly killing ANY hero in the game, I have witnessed this twice now and there is nothing we could do, I have also seen 4 shugoki stacking which is also impossible to deal with for obvious reasons. Watching one or two of them use unstoppable sprint through the fight allowing guaranteed guard breaks or demons embrace for the other shugoki to land their heavy is completely ridiculous.
Theres no point playing the match when 4 people are in a call coordinating this abuse.
Ubisoft already forbids hero duplicates with Rainbow 6 Siege Operators, why not with For Honor too? Overwatch also doesn't allow hero stacking, nor any mobas, in fact I cant think of any Character/class based game that does except with For Honor. In the case of Overwatch it used to be part of the game when released but they realized the problems and abuse that come with it, so they turned it into an Arcade game mode, hust like normal dominion and disabled hero stacking in all other modes.
C: Being penalized for leaving a ranked game once it has started is absolutely valid as someone who plays other games competitively. But penalizing players for leaving casual game modes is ridiculous. Leaving any game mode 1 time for whatever reason resulting in a 15 minute penalty from searching first dc is ridiculous. Again, Ubisoft doesn't penalize players for leaving casual matches in Rainbow 6 Siege, so why penalize players in For Honor? Uphold the same standard. You do not offer a competitive mode other than ranked 1v1 which is broken due to the fact FH does not rotate its meta often enough resulting in the same 3-6 heroes being insanely advantaged over others. This is lessened in a 4v4 setting but again, there is no 4v4 ranked. If there was, It most definitely NEEDS to prevent duplicate hero picking for the same reason EVERY single other character/class game has. ITS 100% ABUSABLE.
I really do hope the forums are occupied by people who are not wearing blinders. These issues addressed and solutions provided would be very positive for EVERYBODY. We love this game, and its sad that every sitting tends to be 30-60% occupied by frustration, feeling cheated and that we lost the roll of the dice.
Thanks guys!
