I'm a huge fan of Roman History and I'm kidda disappointed by the Centurion the fact that he only uses his gladius. A centurion was supposed to use his gladius in coordination with his shield (the scutum) because a gladius sword without the scutum (roman shield) is completely useless, the spanish shortsword (gladius) has a poor range but a very good stab attack that's why they used the shield in coordination with the scutum. So the Centurion is pretty useless now poor range of attack, poor range of tracking from his punches as well. But I do like his kick it's a 50/50 where the enemy either dodges your kick or eats it in the face and I also like the soft feint. But it is now really predictable, it's also a 50/50, if you play For Honor since a long time you know what I'm talking about. The enemy either dodges too early and your soft feint works or the enemy either gets bait by your soft feint and will try to parry so your soft feint works.
But... as you grow stronger in game, get more experience you'll be pretty use to Centurion's combos.
Now, I'd classify the Centurion as a "Noob Crusher" he's really intimidating with new players who've just experienced the game for the first time or who have just played a few days.
But, from my own experience, as a Centurion rep 22, I'd say that he's useless now. In fact he's only good if your opponent makes one mistake and/or if there's a wall behind him. Otherwise, he is useless . Now with my Centurion, when I'm fighting against high rep players, I'm trying to find an edge, a wall or something where I'll get my wallsplat combo to work well and bait my opponent to get a parry punish. (But you can also bait him by feinting your charged heavy multiple times and try to land your full cutscene combo) anyways.
Let's talk about his attacks... a gladius is supposed to be fast and hit quick. The weight of a gladius is about 700g to 1kg.
But again it depends with who you're fighting with. If it's a new player he will say that your attacks are fast. But as a high rep cent, I've experienced players who parried my attacks just after my one light hit or my one heavy hit.
His 3 light attacks combo are useless It's a common thing when you land just one light attack. But it's more rare when you can land 2 light attacks and it's even more rare when you can land 3 light attacks (In fact I could never use that combo in duel because simply it just never works)
His zone... well it's a joke. (you can't even cancel it)
His 2 heavy attacks combo are pretty predictable in fact you can't even feint a heavy attack. So if you make a mistake (I'll take the example of the weekly quest where you fight 3 vortigers I tried that with my friend it was nearly impossible we couldn't even do that. I wanted to try with the Centurion, my favorite character because I'm a huge fan of Roman History like I said, and when I wanted to land a heavy, Vortiger just parried my heavy or he went in defensive stance) like you either miss your heavy or you've just pressed the wrong button, then your opponent uses your mistake to take the advantage.
And you can't feint his unblockable. In a sense yes. You can "feint" it but you can't cancel his unblockable which I think is a really easy way to get easily punished by your opponent. I never use it unless I do the wallsplat combo.
I like the idea of a light + heavy. In fact this is a pretty good move I also like the move when you grab your opponent and you reduce his stamina by hitting your opponent 1 time, 2 times or 3 times with the pommel of your gladius. Strong move in duel that I often use if I obviously get the chance to guard-break my opponent.
Now a little story... The other day I was in ranked duel against a Kensei I guess and he was blaming me because when he was out of stamina I kept spamming kick move and throw a light attack. And he was like "Nice kick spam" and everything. I added him in my friendlist because my opponent was good and what I did what spamming the kick move to win because otherwise he would either parry my attacks or dodge them.
So after the duel he went on internet to read things about Centurion. And in the end I was right, the Centurion was pretty useless. So the Kensei was like " Oh I know now why you kept spamming sorry " and I was like " Yeah dude you see Centurion is pretty useless and I'm kinda disappointed on how he is now. "
Anyway the point is that he obviously needs a HUGE rework where you can find a balanced state between being valuable good against high rep players without being too much punishing against new players. What makes the new players mad about the Centurion is his cutscene combo or the infinite Double heavies (Or Light + heavy) + Jab + repeat.
Even if somehow this game is pretty unbalanced. I still love it, really. I spent huge amount of time laughing with my friends spending really good time about this game. It has a huge of potential and they can also make a new ton of characters. I really love it. No graphic bugs very very stable in terms of graphic and optimisation. Animations are really really good and so are the executions.
You may be good at a video game, but trust me that doesn't make you a solid soul. Nor does it give you the right to be a total doosh bag. If only everyone could completely destroy you in game than would you be pleased with the rest of the gaming world, or would you just find something else to hold over people's heads from your high horse of a gaming chair buddy? I think we all know the answer to that question.. Chill out hot shot. Everyone is relevant, no matter your skill level.Originally Posted by C4rmine52 Go to original post
Can you stop being butthurt and Necroing super old threads because you suck and someone was being honest?. How much you wanna bet the guy you just replied to doesn’t play anymore, go get some skill if you’re still QQing about centurion broOriginally Posted by RigzMoon Go to original post
no, someone that cannot dodge a centurion punch is not relevant. if someone gets hit by the unblockable, they are not relevant. if you get gbd from neutral without doing anything and you cannot cgb you are not relevant. this is a game you have to learn in order to have fun, or at least learn as you go. Of course he probably ain't even playing no more since ''Centurion OP''. It's clear he is new, it's genuinely difficult to lose against a Centurion. New players are not relevant. If developers are to balance the game around new players (like they did when they released Hitokiri) they would ruin the gameOriginally Posted by RigzMoon Go to original post

I'm not defending Centurion because he is my main. I am defending Centurion because everything he has is telegraphed and reactable to the point you cannot nerf him more. Hitokiri is S tier in duels. Don't care if you or others say ''No, Hitokiri is actually A tier'' no she's not. A tier maybe in 4v4 or Overall. But in duels Hitokiri is S tier, one of the heroes you can abuse to winOriginally Posted by AmonDarkGod Go to original post
You defending Hitokiri is pointless. She will not remain like this forever, her kick mix up is ridiculous
My get good or go home does not apply here in the slightest since everyone can admit that you beat Hitokiri by guessing. I would be a hypocrite if I would be defending an S tier hero or at least a viable hero at all, wishing for the nerf of another S tier or inferior hero
Don't know what's your problem, you just cannot let go of this hero cause you enjoy killing people with it or something. Don't worry buddy, she ain't gonna stay like this much longer
Centurions are played mainly by chodes. Haven't you figured this out yet?
And you can say you can dodge his kicks and punches all you want, but when that mother ****** turns 90 degrees and punches you in the face, then kills you without any chance of response, that's a poorly made character. Just is. He's not broken, but he is extremely poorly made.
