    PVE Marksman

With close to 2000 hours played in Division I'm ashamed to admit I have a measly 770 marksman kills. With the daunting prospect of requiring another 9230 kills, I wondered if any seasoned snipers could suggest a good PVE build.

I have all of the classifieds and weapons available, so it'll just be a case of optimizing the best option.

    Thanks for the help.

I have gotten most of mine with the M700 Carbon. You can just move around the map and kill street trash and bosses and it goes up quickly. One boss run fast travelling each time you kill the boss, you'll probably get 150+ and if you run place to place you'll get that much more. I like Hunters Faith as it is the strongest 'pure' sniper build when used with bolt gun. Sentry is decent with semi-auto and I've used it with the Devil / Heel combo before with decent success.

I prefer to use exotic weapons, so the Devil/Heel idea might be good. Thanks.

To be honest, I used Deadeye and an SVD on WT2 for my last roundabout 2,000 kills. Just enter Clear Sky alone and kill all the Rikers, constantly spawning in one of the very first areas (where you have to place the explosives) if you do not place the explosives.

I run sentry myself and usually run with two classic m44 carbines ..But lately have just been having fun running with a historian and an M700..
I just love head shots with the historian and watching dudes fly backwards.. That or plug as many as I can into a guy before they start to blow to see if they'll bounce twice.. lol

I ran dead eye with the m700. Then I ran Madison on hard. Pretty much 1 shot except for the boss. I think you get around 50 a run. That is how I got mine.

Lincoln tunnel is really good for sniper on challenge mode..Especially when you hit the timer section at the tunnel..
The faster you can take them out,the more that will spawn..
It kind of makes you work on your aim also, because if you end up missing a bunch, they'll overtake you..

I used to run that one a lot with my Sentry and m44s when I would grind caches..The head shots add up a lot of good xp..
Then the next area after is just tons more mobs that you can mostly take out with sniper if you run right up top rather than waiting for them to blast the door..
there is plenty of cover and you can pull most of the waves up until the last one pretty much..

To all the seasoned snipers in here, has sniping been the preferred playstyle, done for variety, or perhaps out of necessity? What has gotten you interested in the less-than-common playstyle?

In short: why do you like sniping?
