This is a frustrating issue. Same goes for choppers where I can clearly see the npcs, but can never get a spot on them.

    Yep.

Sniper Rifle or LMG class weapons can penetrate the windshield. It's one of my favourite ways of stopping a convoy.

I lie up somewhere where I have good LOS down the road the convoy is coming down. I place C4 for the escort vehicles...spaced apart so the supply truck is safe. When the supply truck is in the kill zone between the C4...I shoot the driver...and blow the C4.

If you have an LMG....you don't even need the C4. You can simply rake the entire convoy line and smoke em. It's beautiful. Especially on a bridge.

You’re a much better shot than me. Outside of resource farming for Tier Mode (which I’m done with now), where I used Sync Shot and the Jungle to take a convoy with three bullets, I try to take convoys using an LMG and more often than not, I’m stopping it by damaging the truck enough to have it stop.

Occasionally I get a lucky shot that kills the driver. But that’s tough... moving target, only partially exposed, nice! I gave up on Sniper Rifles for convoys, they either one shot the damn truck or are too slow and weak to get enough rounds on the truck to stop it... and hitting the driver... I can only dream of being that good.

Any tips on aiming and sniping the driver? I’d love to master that.

    1. Find a long stretch of road
    2. Lie up facing the direction from which the Convoy is coming - The supply truck should be coming at you
    3. Shoot the driver with LMG or Sniper...preferably Sniper

Believe me...I'm not that great a shot. Which is why I lie facing the incoming convoy...usually high up. That way you don't need to lead the target much as it's a head on shot. What was tricky for me the first couple of times was shooting the driver...In India we have right hand side drive...so I'd often end up popping the co-driver XD

Once the truck is stopped...it's easy pickings. Sometimes I mark the gunners on the escort vehicles for a sync shot...and kick it all off with a high cal round to the driver's head. It feels badass AF.

Too many fiasco attempts to do what you are saying shobhit, at least for me, I am one of those guys that either shot the damn cabin a few times with bolt-action or semi sniper rifle with no luck or I would totally destroy the vehicle with the first shot. Forget about hitting the tires, either it would bounce or it would explode. Like I said, too many failed attempts so I decided to do the smart thing, from a very safe distance and have some fun while I was at it by shooting the SB thugs either with sniper rifle or my trusty M4A1.

I saw plenty of videos of people doing the farming in seconds and while I was impressed, this is not why I play so I decided to find fun ways to farm in Tier 1, hence, why I created a thread about the fun I was having while farming convoys .

    LOL

    Fair enough

Although...If you're using one of those vehicle killing Sniper rifles...it could lead to a toasted truck. IIRC I used the M40.

I’ve tried and failed using a suppressed SR-25. I’m guessing, as with buildings, you have to remove the suppressor to have enough penetration to shoot through the wind-screen?

I think so...I always shot the M40 unsuppressed.
    I'll do a test of it once I'm in-game

EDIT: I tested it. Best results with unsupped M40. I could shoot the driver with it.

It's harder than I remember...missed a lot of shots. Going to practice it...used to be able to pull them off easily....the damn slow *** velocity of the rounds is a pain in the ***.

This is how I do it now... https://forums.ubi.com/showthread.ph...t-least-for-me

Now, being said that above, I just opened up a new character, using the P416 & a sniper rifle I got from one of those crates and there is just no way in hell that the drone finds the driver of the convoy vehicle, the ****ers lights up everybody else but the damn driver. I just went to Remanzo Bravo, found the rally point, tried it with Drone w/o any perks, XP, Skill Tree, etc, etc and I was unable to get it done like I do with my other character with all the perks.

The stupid ****ing reason vehicles blow up when shot, supersonic bullets shooting like from a bb gun and the absolute **** that's the selection of scopes for sniper rifles, is why I almost never use them.

Besides, I can reliably hit targets out to 400m with the SC4000, which makes the sniper rifles obsolete for me.

You should try stopping the convoy with a roadblock or emp before shooting the driver!
