I guess I will agree to disagree because UBI doesn't have the balls to try it does not mean it wouldn't make any money, sure it is not as easy as to sell to the simple unthinking folks, that's for sure. I am sure that if they were to try it, these guys could and would make the different skill levels what they are instead of just dealing more damage from the enemy shots like we see now in WL.Originally Posted by AI BLUEFOX Go to original post
Imagine a game done right, a proper GR so to speak, a true expansion to the original with today's technology and w/o half the gimmicks we have had to endure with this game even when playing at so called "Extreme Level". The arcade could be done for those wanting to run and gun, eyecand galore, Xmas lights to no end, take no damage but give maximum damage and let them go crazy, the rest according to difficulty level until you get to the level were if you want to play, you have to use your head and your brains because the game will not hold your hand and give you a scripted "Use X now" marker. But again, this would require time and money and why spent time and money when simple and mediocre would do. That part I do understand and agree with you.
That would be sweet as well but we go back to that part that UBI wouldn't want outsiders showing them how to do things right... I so would love the idea though.Originally Posted by AI BLUEFOX Go to original post
As I understand it, the dev team for GB consists of two of the original founding members of Redstorm, former military/police guys, and military advisors. Could be wrong though. But we're talking a very small dev team, so updates are slow. Also, GB will have mod support on release. Ubi could learn something from Blackfoot Studios. :POriginally Posted by GiveMeTactical Go to original post
Also, regarding Ubi licensing their games out to small studios for modding purposes, then taking a cut of money - I don't think so. The reason why we have the likes of Origin, uPlay and now Bethesda's own platform where end users purchase games is because Valve takes a cut (30%?) of any sales of games on Steam.
If only took the inclusion of a wetsuit to get that old SOCOM feel back...Originally Posted by clickclak99 Go to original post
Drop the "Tom Clancy" brand altogether, this titles no longer deserve it's pedigree.Originally Posted by B_616e6f6e Go to original post
Would a "Jane's" branded flight sim be allowed to go scott free with inaccuracies comparable to the ones found in Tom Clancy games nowadays? I don't think so.
Create a new IP if you want; call it "Poltergeist Patrol" or "Ectoplasmic Scouts" but please quit molesting this game's corpse..
