Really like the EMP idea. I don't think any animations would need to be added, simply the sound of an NPC being shocked borrowed from Blacklist:

Mousing over a locked gun in weaponsmith will tell you why it's locked in a short blurb at the top of the weapon list. Some require the defeat of a boss, some must be bought in the store or won in a prestige crate, some are challenge rewards, et cetera.

Because unless one has a pacemaker or is touching a high voltage electronic device at the time of the blast, an EMP would have no effect on the human body whatsoever.

EMP at close proximity would do damage. For the games sake, it could be rigged with a way to maximize the current output. You can electrocute yourself from a battery.

That's just AR. Haven't bothered to count the rest. I think it's bs to even show items in a game you buy that can't be found inside the game. Leave that S@#$ in your store Ubisoft. For the people that like to collect, will never reach 100% unless they buy it.

They're presumably making those weapons visible to everyone in weaponsmith in order to advertise them.

People who might not go to the store unprompted might be tempted to go there and buy something if they see a weapon they like in weaponsmith while looking at what's available.

While I despise greed I do find it helpful to be able to see at a glance what new items are available in each category every time there's an update.

Gives me something to aim for when I farm GR credits via prestige crate duplicates.

I don't want to buy a game only to find out if didn't buy the "whole" game. DLC is usually also content that was withheld upfront. 20 Ar's is a lot of weapons to be missing in the main game.
